Look 8 post down from the top in the transmission topic, shows the spring and where it is. My knowledge of these cars is small in comparison to most but it does sound like the cable is not endaging/disengaging fully.

The spring on the clutch pedal. That will give you a better 'feel' and can't hurt. Be careful when taking it off though it can fly off like a rocket.

The more I come to think of it (remember my situation) it got a lot worse as the engine got warmer, especially stop start traffic in town.

Don't worry about removing it, mines been off for over a year with no problems

Ok, is it simply pull/lever off or do you have to unscrew shit first?

Carl's lad removed mine in about 20 seconds, I think he just used a pair of long pliers, just a couple of cir clips (or what ever they are called).

No need to remove any body work etc.

Hang on, it's still in my glove box, I'll go take a look.

Ball socket at one end (just pops off) and a clip at the other. Would take a pic for you but I have to be at work in an hour. Good luck.

take some wd40 and spray it under the clutch lever arm. the wd40 is just a temp fix to see if the arm is dragging.

i would buy a genuine peugeot clutch cable and grease up the gearlinkages.

my gear lever nylon ball was cracked in two when i replaced it. this can cause irregular gear selection.

I'm near certain this is not a linkage related problem Niel, all linkages look relatively new and i greased them all up when fitting the new box.

Clutch cable/peddle/arm are my main areas of concern now.

The spring is to push the pedal down. mine feels so much better without. It can be refitted if you keep all the bits.

I am not talking about the linkages but the gear lever arm 'thingy' ... My hand is lying flat on the side of the battery case. 5cm above my finger under the black pipe is the pivot point. get some wd40 under that and take it for a spin. if it works then get some grease under the arm.

hmm yes ... bit wrecked atm ... so wrecked i was going to make a Welly type video Cheers

i think 90% of stiff clutches are down to this arm not being lubricated. I guess the real issue is the clutch lever arm bearing failiure or where the arm goes through the gearbox casing.

I would be keen to try a manual adjustment cable, but I'm not sure if there's one that fits straight on. Other than that, the symptoms sound like a loose/broken spring in the plate, but since you've changed the plate, it would seem unlikely.

OK, so just been out with martin (davidmartin) and we've narrowed it down to gear linkages - makes sense as they're the only thing ive not replaced on the car since owning.

We adjusted the longest linkage (made it shorter) and it seems to have helped quite a bit. So i'm going to order a new set of linkages and go from there Big grin

Massive thanks to marty for his time - top guy! Thumbs up

Hello m8, Ive registered specifically to put my reply to this thread, I used to work for a Peugeot main dealer and I would suggest your soloution is in your symptoms. The fact that this problem is here only occasionally and then rights itself says it can only be the self adjuster in the clutch cable as any other problem e.g.a bent arm or pedal box would be there all the time. Match a manually adjusting one up with GSF and I'd put
