phil dented my upper bar next to the wiper inwards by about 3mm by the looks of it, just enough for it clear the wiper corner, but it is silly tight. i was going to run a different wiper motor, possibly on the inside but it worked out fine

There's 1 degree of bend on the tube IIRC, if you have access to a tube bender. Smile

You could grind the inner wing a touch where the stiffening ridge is if you don't want to do that, but you'll have to weld the tube to the inner wing to get the strength back in the panel.

I'm sure I'll get it in there, It's not exactly the most important part of the cage anyway.

Started to make a little 'progress' on this again, if you can call stripping the block right back down to nothing so I can paint it can clean it prior to finall assembly. I also purchased a few bits of kit to make sure of all the sizes as I don't want any nasty suprises!

Pistons/rods all out and numbered

Block given first coat of Hammerite smooth Dark Blue (Company colours are Navy blue and white, so if it's going on track it might as well give me a little advertising while it sits in the tyre wall/on the back of the tow truck/burns uncontrollably while upside down...)

And some bore dial guages, the micrometer set comes tomorrow, I have a mania for good tools, I just cant't help myself...

Should be ready to start bolting it all up by the weekend. Oh and I've cut up a standard inlet manifold ready to make a longer inlet than the Jenvey item, no pics of that yet but I'll take a few while I'm making it. (Hopefully this will be a modified inlet that actually improves things for once!)

Thats the plan, a stanley blade and a bit of thinners on a rag will whip that soft new paint straight off.

Why did you just paint it blue and then paint it a different blue again?

Besides that, can I come touch some shiny things?

Also, speaking of baffling, know any way of getting a baffled fuel tank to cure this fuel starvation issue of mine/all other P1 owners?

The first coat had some black mixed in with it from another job and was darker than I wanted. It needed a second coat anyway as it was patchy so I broke out a new tin. It's come up a treat now and should be easy to spot leaks etc. against the lighter color. And as for your fuel starvation, forget special tanks, get a swirl pot buddy Wink

I ordered up my Maniflow system on Friday, it's coming in kit form to save me a few pennies, I'll be welding it up myself. I got the spec for the lengths of the primary and secondary pipes from Sandy Brown so it should be just the ticket.

I get to pick up my DIY Maniflow system on Saturday, £175 instead of about £500 means quite a saving if you do the welding yourself, all I need to do is find someone that's handy with a TIG torch now...

Use the 1 bar 1.4 pump to pick up fuel to feed the 3 bar pump, the little 1.4 pump sits flat in a little plastic swirl pot of it's own right on the bottom of the tank, just need to seal the pot the '6 pump sits in so it's got some storage.

I took a ride out to Salisbury to collect my Maniflow this weekend and am very pleased with how it looks. I think it might be a litle bit of a pig to fabricate on the car as there are a lot of sleeve joints that can move about but I'm sure I'll manage.

I think they have a Jig to do their manifolds.

could bolt the flange on the head and support the rest in place and tack it up, then weld it fully off the car?

hoping that the welding process doesn't (as it always does LOL ) pull it out of shape...
