Good to see you went to the best RR with the best operators and accurate readings.
On the same RR my std road GTI6 showed 163.8 bhp atf and 139 bhp atw with 141 lbft. The same car illedgedly had 185bhp atf and 147 bhp atw at another RR!

I would personally look at the whp outcome and if it was mine id be pleased with 164 bhp atw with whats been done. It is quite and improvement over the standard whp!

Track n Road were reccommended to me personaly by a friend who had some really good help from them. I was amazed to see how committed they were to accuracy, there were two meters checking the AFR, they calibrated their lambda before the start of each session (which I burned myself fitting! LOL ) they used an airconditioning system to provide cold, rather than just moving air to the engine. I was very impressed by their level of competence and they were very thorough. (Especially in the time they had available, a full map would be

Thanks mate, after getting plenty of feedback from other members on here I'm a lot happier about what I got at the end of the day. My dissappointment was down to the previous RR figure giving me a false impression of what to expect once the TBs went on. That and the fact that the power delivery is'nt what I'm used to seemed to make it slower, but now I'm getting used to it I'm pretty chuffed tbh.

The more I drive it the more used to it I'm getting, it's just a little more hard work keeping it in the sweet spot on the road as I normally change up at 5.5k unless I'm feeling really keen! Now you have to run it all the way to 6.5k if you don't want it to drop out of the power band at the next gearchange. And that makes a lot of noise and attracts unwanted attention Whistle

5.5k / 6.5k max! You should be using 7.5k!

Torque and power are all on the way back down after that point on a std lump. After new rods etc. though... Devil

not really, as it delivers more power and more torque than it used to, so you should rev it less to make the same progress, just doesn't feel like it LOL

Yeah, but it stops you dropping into an area of ever less power when you change gear, redline it everywhere LOL

Intresting this, A mate of mine with a 205 with the old MI in it with 45 Carb;s (Yuk), Inlet cam and exhaust manifold made 170 bhp at Aldon's then on another RR is made 210bhp,
Just ignore the figures and how it drives is the most important thing

They should make around 190 in std form,

Not yet, I'm collecting parts with a view to rebuilding the engine with forged internals as soon as I can afford it. These are the first step on the way. Smile
