The calipers have at last turned up. Now i need to get the spacers ordered up. If i've measured it correctly I need 15mm spacers to clear the 1.9 alloys.

Are they Midilites? If they are then the new batch have different logos. Not that it makes a difference if it fitsLooks good. Spiky tbh I've probably not measured it right. The back of the 1.9 alloy bends is quite a lot, its this that makes it need to go out so far. Welly well spotted mate, heres a pic of the rest of the car.  |

Thanks Welly I've tried to keep it pretty stealthy, I've surprised a few people with it  Phil can you do 15 mm spacers? That is if i've measured up right (probably not mind). How much would I be looking at for them? At least i can save with postage as i can pick them up. |

I've spent a bit more time measuring the spacer I need to get them to fit under 205 alloys. Its still 15mm maybe even 16mm. Looks like 1.9 rims aren't the best for 4 pots. How much clearance is it to be safe? |

They're all speedlines.Thats what i did first, just with some longer bolts. I found the wheel was moving all over the place so knowing if the wheel was centered or not was impossible. Today I got some rod to fit the wheels over, then i got some 4mm wood board and cut it into discs allowing it to fit to the hub. This way i centered the wheel a bit better and feel a little more confident that a 15mm spacer will be ok. |

J205: looks like I will get to copy you this time! I have the brackets but not the calipers yet.I am a little concerned with the size of the spacers. I was talking to SuperJosh at the weekend and he said when he ran 20mm spacers it completely messed up the handling of his 205.... Hi Garry, that thought had crossed my mind. Thinking about it though aren't 1.6 hubs spaced further out than 1.9 hubs?If worst comes worst I'll be looking for some wheels that will clear the brakes without spacers. |

Just done a bit more research over on drivers and others have said they will be fine, spacers that is. Apparently PeterT runs 26mm spacers. ________________________________________ 205 GTI6 S |
