About christmas i decided that as much as i love and like the brembo's enough was enough with the noise i was getting. So set about trying to find a solution.
As was
After looking around i wanted something that would also be:
After a bit of digging i chose Wilwood Caliper.
Cheaper than the likes of AP and a good choice of fitments.
They do a kit designed for pug fitment, as Damian had on his Shitter ™. I didn't go for these as they run special 21mm wide discs only available from supplier.
So first up was to find something that would fit the std disc. This would keep the cost of the discs down and make things easier.
So after i worked out piston area and finding one that was around the same as the Brembo's and more than the Std size caliper, and taking into account the disc width i went for these puppys with some Wilwood pads. Radial mount Midilites. (midilites have dust seals)
Sat on the disc
Next i set about measuring up for the brackets.
I'm not that technically minded but took the plunge.
After my first measurements i realised i cocked up but only on one measurement.
But i did do one thing for me, i realised that the bolts i needed need to to be different to normal of the shelf bolts as the hole was to small to get a socket onto
Back to the drawing board
After realising my mistakes i came back with another design of bracket.
Lat week i finally manged to lay my hands on the brackets
Today i managed to get the right bolts.
They were a bas**rd to find as i needed 3/8 bolts (caliper hole is 3/8) The tap i had was UNF and the heads needed to be capped.
Found a really good ole boy in Plymouth that had them on shelve in the right size
So here is the finished product waiting to be fitted
