Well the tweaked map from Omex has improved it no end, no more popping back on idle.
double checked the balance today with a flow meter and its spot on.

think its got to go on the rollers for the final tweaks and it will be there as its still not 100%, its alot better than it first was but gone as far as I can really.

but cost-bhp is not good not unless further engine work is done, so get saving now DaveRazz

does sound good thoughSmile

Thanks Carl for the hard work you have done, I know its been an hair pulling experience and its drove me cookoo tooBlink if its got some roar it will please me for the moment.

I will have to get mega saving for Stage 2 or I will have to wait until you sell your btcc to me LOL

what did chris bowen do with his ex btcc lump? just a thought

Chris still has the engine, albeit in bits, just needs putting back together I believe, he offered it to me a while back but I didn't have the money at the time, of anyone was in the Market for one could be a cheap way of getting this type of engine if you had the skill and know how to build it back up. I do know that for what it is he not want a lot for it comparatively speaking......

no problem Smile

306 btcc is not for sale, so better buy the engine from chris BOWEN mentioned above and rebuild it or buy one of the 306 btcc on ebay/pistonheadsRazz

My thoughts exactly, besides all that BTCC stuff is getting a little long in the tooth now so it's big money for items of questionable history that could let go at any point. Best to build what you want for yourself Smile

You could build something more useable yes as the btcc is not really user freindly, but I have not bought it for what it can or cant do, I have bought it cause it is what it is, an ex btcc so a bit of history.

I could easily break it and make money as the bits on it are worth a lot to the right people, but again dont really care as never gonna sell it and prob never really use it as it was intended, it just nice to have!

But yes if anything breaks or goes wrong with it I WILL cry!

Don't get me wrong, I'd give my left testicle for a BTCC car, and an up together example like yours is a safe bet, it's all the 'Ex BTCC' parts and 'Longmans' engines doing the rounds these days worry me, without bieng able to verify the history they all seem like expensive timebombs to me. Admittedly, by the time I finish mine it will undoubtedly owe me more than your lovely car owes you. And it definitely won't be so fast, but I will be able to say I did it (Not sure if that's a good thing yet!) and it will get driven the way I always intended.

P.S. I will also cry if I break it Wink

Thats a fair comment, how Carls btcc handles is like no other car, he was told you can push it and push it on a track and still be blown away how it handles.

The shell alone cost £25,000 so it going to take some doing.

What plans do you have with your Daveyboy in regards to the engine? Are you running lairy cams?

You misunderstand me, Carl's car cost him somewhere in the region of 15,000 I'm guessing? Mine will owe me more than that by the time it's done, I'm not suggesting for a minute that I'm going to top the spend the car originally cost Roll eyes

If I had known costs would have spiralled this badly I probably would have bought an ex BTCC in the first place Smile

I doubt I'm far off either, But allot of mine is on suspension which is far better than any TC set up.
But it's cheaper to fix if anything goes wrong
