So left the head in the solution for a few days and it cleaned up all the waterways and stuff very nicely.
We then took it to Daveyboys workshop and he started to work his magic.
First off, matched the ports to the gasket, only a few mil was needed to be taken off.

Then the dye grinder came out and the ports had a good smoothing and sorting.

Threw myold Exhuast gasket out so couldnt really do much on the those ports, but ordering one tomorrow I think and then can finish this off.
Then will be sending it to get cleaned and skimmed and can then put it back togther.
Also ordered the rest of my fuel pipe and can fit that one night this week

So Spent a day on the car today, first off I raised it up further on its axel stands so I can get underneath it to underseal it and fit the p clips I got from pertex for the new fuel pipes.
Next I started removing the dash, half way through so wish I never started, but after a lot of swearing and finding all the litttle screws. finally got it out.

But I unbolted the heater box too, does anyone know if all none a/c boxes are the same?
or do I need one off a rallye?

Doh

Make sure you get them right against the windscreen, they don't have the oomph of a normal heater, but then they don't weigh 14 tons either...LOL

So had another productive day today.
First job was to remove the heater box, as I had already unbolted it yesterday didnt take very long.

I first throught I would remove the plate that holds the servo and pedals so first off I removed the servo and steering column, just ofr further reference the nuts/bolts combo things are left hand thread

but once all that was off, I found out they bond them in so instead of cutting it out, I got some apoxy metal stuff and made up a plate and stuck it on, instead of getting it welded.
the stuff looks pretty strong and as I am a tart gave it all a paint so it looks good
Plate was made from my trusty transit cut out

I am going to use this method to do the waste pipe hole for the heater and the air intake hole too

so while I was waiting for the paint to dry and stuff, I stripped the dash
First out came the loom

then I took out the ducting, its all plastic welded togehter so drilled out the rivots and it pulled apart quiet easily

After thinking about it, I am going to keep this dash and get it covered as making one will be a right ball ache.
As I now have a spot weld drill I started removing some of the fittings

The only trouble with this time of year is it gets dark at 4 so have to stop, but at least it keeps your drink cold
