Where's yours? The last one they sent with Kevs cage was a little short and didn't really have enough bend on - it sits about 20mm shy of the front crossmember.

So got home today to find a delivery

I love the subframes and uber light (I am sure Daveyboy will disagree LOL)

and yes I did sit in them and make brum brum noises

LOL
The plan for tomorrow is to get some more done on the cage.

I might even reassemble the steering colomn and pedals so I can get the seat subframe and tube kit fitted.

Yeah they are big boy seats.

The whole lot cost me a grand.

Mark from Prima motorsports is a top bloke, but he will be reluctent to sell u a seat with out you sitting in it, but his belts are spot on, half the price of Salbet and FIA and VOSA approved

Didnt take any photos yesterday, weather was shit.

But I cut the seat mounting kit to size, but what a muppet I am I only ordered one kit!! so another one is on its way.

Jim came round yesterday and we got the upper rear stays made up and tacked in, the rear lower stays welded in and the drivers side door bar in as well.

It looks like a cage now.

Just a few pics of yesterdays progress.

some bolts I had laying around temp til I can get some more to bolt the seat subframe to the mounting kit.

I bolted the seat to the subframes and put it in the passanger side and it felt good there so I made the mounts the right lenght, I wont weld them in just incase the door bars get in the way.

I gave the gussets a lick of paint as they got wet yesterday so after a wire brush session they got painted.

the weld sample for custom cages so the cage can be certified

Phillip M's patented cage fitting tool.

and a few of the cage progress

Or in Rikky's case, wandered off and followed a line of 'that'll do, it's within half a foot'
His didn't have a kink across the roof line, not sure Kev's did either Hmm

I don't know why they bother, 2 bends is all it needs to get it tight up to the bodywork, being really picky you might put a slight roll in it, but not a kink.
Crazy

Having fun? LOL

LOL

I do hope you're supervising properly, you know, deckchair, pint, few spares lined up and occasionally getting up to see what he's swearing at?

No its looking good. I will get out there today or tommorrow, get some pics done.

I will make up some templates of the floor to cut the checkerplate and might get some more prep done.

I will whip that blanking plate off and take the main engine loom out all ready for your favorate job.

2 or 3 more evenings and I think you might have cracked it.
