So had another 2 parcels turn up this morning.

One was from merlin Motor sport, I ordered what I thought where 2 smaller brake resovoirs, but they are the same bloody size so back to the drawing board on them.

Also I had a boss for my steering wheel

so I test fitted it to the steering wheel to make sure it al fitted etc

I also ordered some harness eyelets

Also I had a very big parcel turn up, in it was this bad boy

And I put it all together and had a go at welding, please bare in mind I this was my first go, can any welding experts (Jim) see what you think and tell me what I need to do

underside

I hav brought a new helmet which the glass darkens, but I need to get some batteries so I usedone I had laying around, but did try out my new gauntlets

Now a project like this is expensive, but you dont realise how much yo actually buy, here is all the receipts

So a quick update on this as I havent really for a while.
I have been doing so much.
I have started the prep of the body work.
My custom cage is in the garage read to be fitted.
I need to get the car stripped down and all the welding inside done so Jim can fit the cage. That should be done this week.
or next.
I also got my rubber mounts for my intercooler and so thats all bolted in and fitted properly.
That took longer than I thought but its all done now.(pics to follow)

right so did a bit more today.
Recieved a charger oil cooler this week from Ash as I had been looking out for one for a while so I can test fit it and make the brackets up.
So did that. I used some ally angle I had, I put some gromets in the holes to try and absorb some of the vibrations as there is just no room for any rubber mounts.

and here is the front end finished and you can see the rubber cotton reels I used to mount the intercooler

I then started cleaning up the tubes and checking they are all there and I have run into a problem.
The Rear stays lower are 4 peices which I think is wrong as I have been looking at the diagram and some threads on here and they are only 2, so it looks like that have sent the stays for the f2 cage instead, so will have to ring them tomorrow and see what the hell is going on.
but here are some tubes painted

Now are you all ready for the colour I have chosen, I love it, but some of you are going to hate it.

Is the whole car going to be that colour Chris? Or just the cage?

How did you get the stuck on rubber boot off the end of the rack fella (the one that covers the track rod balljoint), and how did you stick it back on?

So had another parcel turn up this week, just some clocks so i can pinch the glass out of it and some new fuel pump covers as I mine melted in the fire.

So had a phone call from Jim yesterday, he had modified my brake fluid resovior so I dont have to modify my bonnet, and I think it will be perfect now

and i also removed the last of the sound deadening

Am so glad no more of this crap on the car, But am glad i did pull it off as there is a tiny bit of rust under where it was just on the seam where the two panels over lap, so will have to sort it out.

Given the chice, I'd rather sit outside the tent, in a deckchair turning sausages on the BBQ while drinking too much beer. Not siting inside, peering out at torrential rain and cursing my bad luck for not booking it the week earlier Razz

Hope they haven't sent you the same screen and dash bar as the one up here, they were so bloody long the barely even fit in the car itself, never mind between the front hoops LOL
Not enough bend on the screen bar either, have to tweak it a bit Dry
