I thought it would be, tbh I'd rather collect it than risk some p*ssed off delivery driver throwing it around! Just a little far for me to travel Sad

Was A nice today today, so set about doing somework on the car. My body guy let me down again so I got on with some other jobs.

First thing was to remove the rear hubs, I brought a hub puller from Halfords last weekend and it did the job, but the races did split so will need new bearings, but I was expecting that.

I then heated up the race that was still on the stub axle and tried to knock it off with a drift, but it wasnt working too well, so I had a genius Idea and unbolted the caliper brackets and knocked them off with that, worked a treat, except one of the bolts snapped so so i drilled a hole in it and beat a old torque into it and it came out.

So now I seem to have this desease most rallye drivers have and need to save weight I cut off the part of the bracket that holds the ABS sensor.

Before

cutting off the bits

After that I give them a good spray of degreaser

Washed them off and gave them a lick of paint

Also I attatched the loom back into the dash

and terminated the wires in the engine fuse box

And I fitted my new oil catch tank

I then set about fitting the dash in the car, and finding a way to mount it.

I am still not sure on how I will do it on the top yet, but want do much until the cage is fitted as the dash bar runs close to where it will be mounted.

Cant really drive arround like this, but it held it in place while I made a support bracket for underneath.

Out came my trusted transit side

cut out a bit and marked out what I wanted

I then painted and fitted it, there are two holes on the botom of the dash that where used but not any more, was a bit picky usig wood screws, but you cant really see them and they do the job

And the dash fitted

The dash was such a pain in the arse, very stress ful, next time would ask for an assistant

And lastly I fitted the swirl pot

So will order it the beginning of next month.

Was a lovely day today, and thought I would have ago at some of the body work on the car, 2 hours later covered in dust and more p*ssed off than when I started, I turned my attention to some of the other jobs.

I was so fed up of filing out holes I went to machine mart and brought my self a set of these.

They are bloody brilliant and so much easier.

I then cut 2 holes for the wires going through the bulk head.

I then set about getting the bulk head fixings fitted in the boot floor

The bulk head fittings need a washer as the bolt does not come all the way down the shaft, so had to drill them out too.

and I then fitted the fittings to the fuel pump
And my god they do the fittings up tight.

will get that fitted this week hopefully.

the cage bar should be about 4" lower than the dash mount holes ideally. mine runs right through the steering column housing - you ever tried removing the brake switch with a cage bar through the hole? Laugh my ass off and make sure you cut some grooves outta the column surround FIRST if you're gonna put the bar through it.. mine was fitted through the steering column housing and then when i needed to remove it i completely overlooked that i wouldn't be able to! so had to cut a slit out of each side so it'd pull free

LOL Ill bear that in mind.

Those holes wont be any good for mounting the dash I dont think, and I thought the dash bar was higher than that, thought they block those holes, might be easier if its that low!!

'S not a bad idea as it fires the dash and steering column away in a heavy front
