I'd guess you'll need lower comp/uprated internals, then it should be a simple pulley/restrictor change...

Dan,

There is no 250 BHP or 350 BHP kit or whatever - they are all the same.

They come with a reducer ring to control boost for people that are still using a standard engine.

All you have to do is take the reducer ring out and throw it in the bin, then it will be 350+ BHP.

But as Phil says, you will need forged pistons for over 250 BHP, which IIRC you know anyway.

Big grin

Laugh

No worries mate.. questions are fine.

The more questions I answer on here the better as it will create a 'Supercharger Conversion FAQ'.

So no worries

Ahh i see! thought it'd be summet like that! was just clarifying! Roll eyes

And yep with regards to the internal! just gota save up for them first!

What compression ratio would be best for my goal then ? and do i need to specify this when ordering the rods n pistons! i do i just explain what im doing and the bhp i want the rods to withstand!

What's the score with a group buy on a batch of Rotrex C30 94s?

(trying to get 'em a bit cheaper)

I intend to do this..

The discount terms we have with Rotrex are staggered and depend on quantity, so if I can get a few people together the cost will come down.

The only problem is having 5 or 6 people with that sort of money at once...

Get it organised so as many people as you can get, can have the money all at once!

I'd be interested if the charger could be less! ie, around the 1k mark! i hope lol!

Correct...

I have it on over the winter months, but for summer I take it off, get some better airflow over the IC.

It runs fine with it on though...

Also looks quite aggressive with it off Ninja

I'd like to keep my front end looking standard-ish if possible..

Looking at the front of it, one thing I was thinking was a short, wide IC in the grille between the front fogs area. There's one that comes from Mercedes diesels - apparently they're liked in the VAG tuning scene (1.8T etc.) for being good coolers but not at "aftermarket" prices Happy

Thing is you can get the charge pipes round the side of the bumper, well not 65mm ones anyhow. Hence rich suggests bottom facing in/outlet pipesThumbs up

Nissan pulsar ic is perfect if you can get someone to swap one of the end tanks overCool. Might fit with srtandard fans with a little bumper trimage.

Rocker covers are done with standars Diablo paint Yes

They were shot blasted first to remove grime and corrosion, then primered, basecoat and lacquered.

Make sure you put it on quite thickly and it will be fine, but obviously not too thick or you will get runs...

There's plenty of intercoolers out there that will fit, or can be made to fit..

The most important thing is the outlet positions, these both need to be downwards facing, so the pipes can run under the chassis cross-member and back up into the engine bay.

If you want to keep the standard fan cowling/fans, stick to a 2" thick core, and depending on the size of the cooler you should only need to remove minimal material from behind the bumper.

Thicker cores will require the removal of the OE fan cowling, and use of slimline fans such as SPAL, Kenlowe etc.

The Derv Doctor to a nice little 2" thick intercooler they use on tuned 306 DTurbo's, which has the downwards facing outlets and would be ideal for this conversion.

Another option, but expensive, is the Pace Products 306 DTurbo charge-cooler kit.

If you want to pick up a universal cooler and make it fit, eBay is the best, check out eBay US too - 1000's on there, and they're very good, and very cheap too. You will get stung on the shipping but it can still work out considerably cheaper than the UK.

For the high boost conversion, several people have asked about the injectors.

They are made by Bosch, and the Bosch part no. 0 280 150 558.

The US is the best place to get them, should be some on US eBay.

They are used by Ford Motorsport, and often sold under a Ford Motorsport part no. which is M-9593-F302. They are 440cc or 42lb/hr and lime green in colour.

I have a map on file from my car to run the high boost conversion with these injectors, so you will need to get these, or another brand of the same flow rate (440cc/min) to work with the ECU Flashing/Mapping service that i'm offering for considerably less than a custom remap.

You will also need to increase your fuel pressure to 4 BAR, you can get a regulator from a 2.9 VRG VAG engine at the scrappy, or use any sort of adjustable regulator such as FSE etc.

Standard fuel pressure/injectors should be OK on the low boost setup, although I will be in a better position to answer this when I get the first car on the dyno...

Only 2 kits left now Shock

I've just bought a C30-94 charger, so will set up a display engine on an engine stand with the kit on it, exactly as being supplied to you guys. Any prospective buyers will be able to come and view the setup @ Lynx Garage. This won't be for approx. 5 weeks though until production is complete.

It will look identical to mine apart from it will retain the GTi-6 throttle body, the ICV has moved location to the manifold, and the throttle cable arm is also on the manifold.

Should look neat Yes
