Know this is a old thread but did anyone decide what's best on fitting one ...just bought a 1litre Mocal catch tank is blanking the inlet manifold best & using filter on Mocal & do you use one way disc from rocker cover to catch tank ???
Coskev said something about needing suction into the catch tank ?....do I connect from catch tank to inlet manifold as Stnd but with Catch tank inline ????
Hopefully fitting tonight ?Smile

I bought one off eBay, fitted pipe straight from rocker cover into the tank and put a breather on the inlet. That's probably the wrong thing to do though Smile

Really you need one like I have which has an inlet and and outlet pipe but with a breather on the top of the catch can. Let's the vapours out but still let's it suck through from the inlet. However I've not had the outle pipe connected to anything sing going supercharged and it still fills itself up with condensation water. Every month or so there's probably 25ml of slightly oily water in it I have to empty. So it's obviously still doing the job well enough.

Just got off the Phone to Miles & he said blank inlet & run pipe from rocker to catch tank & pipe from second feed to close to bottom of the engine bay because of fumes from pipe getting sucked into cabin ....you don't need a filter !!!
I'll take some pics later !
Also don't use one way fitted stnd !
Hope that helps ?
He said if oil does go into catch tank it's a build up of pressure & it should only be Vapour with misty oil at worse ???

From the regs I've seen, you don't need to use an oil catch tank for motorsport, but if you do have one it should have a capacity of two litres.
Luckily I have just the thing for sale if anyone is interestedDunno
Mocal 2ltr oil catch tank, brand new £95 delivered

The catch tank separates the oil mist & crank case pressure from the induction side of the engine.
It gives the engine a clean air/fuel mixture to burn, I believe it acts like running on higher octane fuel.

Cool
