Cheers Ollie, before I sell anything I will exhaust all the options first. Be a shame to let it go at this stage.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Couldn't agree more, having a garage at the back of my house is ideal, means I can pop out and do half an hour when it suits me. Couldn't be doing with travelling somewhere and worrying about it, plus its more outgoings each month that won't get spent on the ermm, family? Would be a shame to break it, but it has been an ongoing project for quite a while! I'd understand why but still a shame. Might be a good idea to join the tricolor trophy group on facebook if you do decide to sell up, there is a new class called production plus which is basically modified everything but standard engine, ideal for keeping costs realistic and yours with a standard engine would be very competitive. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

I'll take a look at that Pete, I'd not be able to justify the cost or risk of racing it now, can't afford to fix it if I bend it, but it would break my heart to sell it. But if there's no option of a garage at home then that's what will have to happen. I'll have a look at that planning portal and see what's involved. Even if I had to put up a gazebo on the drive for the shell while its in build its an option, just don't fit any expensive goodies until it's a roller and back in the garage.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Sorry, badly worded by me, I meant more that there would be people interested in a good spec rolling shell to stick a standard engine in, if not the whole lot, should you decide to sell up. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Stick it at our place, I promise to make sure all the shiny bits get used to keep them from rusting up. Maybe not all at the same time, or on your car, but they'll get used ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. It would be a shame to break it, one of the few cars i've used for inspiration. Hopefully you'll find a solution and get to finish it! ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

What was their reason for saying you've no chance of permission? I've several metres to the side of my garage which I want to extend in to effectively a triple, and was under the impression (hoping!) that due to being under a certain size I could just get away with it being permitted development and not needing planning. Obviously all councils differ, but it's made me think it's probably a good idea now to mention my intentions and see if I am wasting my time preparing for it. ________________________________________ |

I contracted an independent planning advisor, he made the comment that extending the garage would compromise my driveway meanig I'd have to reverse cars into the area in front of the shared garage to get out of the cul de sac. For that reason he said I'd get planning refused. I'm not going to let it lie there though, can't let the car go on the strength of one persons say so, but planning is his job so I don't expect an easy ride of it.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Definitely ask first, you don't want to fall foul of planning regs, they are very vindictive if you do first ask later, and ask for more than you need so you have the option to compromise a little on dimensions later. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I think I might have been tempted by the offer of a mildly souped up E46 M3 and a bit of cash my way for the lot as is.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I think the whole lot will have to go as is for the deal on the car to go through, I'm looking for a bit of money on top so insuring it etc doesn't cost me any cash right after getting it. Nothing is definite yet, it still might get broken but I'll know after Sunday. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies.
