Had my wheel's refurbished a couple of weeks ago and replaced all corners with toyo proxies. Historically all my hot hatchbacks have been fit with toyo's and I've never found fault with them. Now my rallye feels mega twitchy and the steerings gone very light with little or no feedback via the steering wheel, it feels horrendous
The only thing i can think its down to is ive dropped from a 195/55/15 profile to a 195/50/15, not sure if i should buy something different and flog these in ?

As Adam said check the pressures. I don't run mine at the recommended pressure as I hate the way it drives.

Last Rallye I drove felt like that, even with solid bearing wishbones, totally different to the Eagle F1's, which I think were probably the best gripping tyre I've felt on a 6.

If you decide on different brand tyres, I'd be interested in the Toyos please Thumbs up

Toyo T1R's are shocking in comparison to PS3's or Eagles.

I had rainsport 2's on one of mine for a while and I hated them, got some ps2's and the difference was night and day. Similar to how you're describing, I felt like I was driving on jelly and wasn't pleasant to drive.

The Goodyear ultra grip winters I've got on at the minute are better than the Toyo's, I took four off with reasonable tread and just binned them. Worst tyres I've ever had, I'd put P6000's (slightly) ahead of these.

Get them off Smile

Everybody has their own opinion on tyres, but personally can't fault Toyos.

All depends on how they are used. If you don't use them. They look great.

Toyos only work well on very very light cars as they have s**t sidewalls.

I cant fault my Rainsport 3's

Have had them ages (they last) and the car is stuck to the tarmac, But i have very recent suspension all round which probably helps

Its mental, was on my way home tonight and decided to whip the wheel side to side at about 50mph, it felt like the tyre walls flopped all over, you could actually feel the back end wallo around like the tyres where flat, checked pressures and there at 34 psi, think i might put them up to 40psi see if it makes any difference, somethings not right ???

Honestly, im on my 3rd set of T1rs and they are brilliant. My friend uses them buffed in a road going class at Harewood hillclimb and has set the record there.
Usually , there is something else wrong if a brand new set of tyres feels terrible after the bedding in period.... Poor balancing, warped wheel, tracking, pressures, toe, camber, caster etc etc

My 6 on t1rs, is amazing in the dry with NO UNDERSTEER and its 4 wheel drifting in the wet with controllable lift off oversteer.....Search my profile posts for more info. Ive JUST put a new set of T1rs on my 6.....They are very good, especially for 37 pounds each!

32 psi allraound with a slight increase in wear on the near side rear due to roundabout playtime
