I may once it’s made.... holesaw lots of holes in the Carbon to match the Gear-lever stand and the engine mount and I’m going to make a (stick out peak) over the Cartek panel to shield the lights on the buttons from the sun ...I can then see them on bright days |

Just did the 104 pages in 2 sittings all I can say is WOW, Fantastic work and attention to detail,Only negatives are It's a shame you drilled the Dash for the gauges now you are going with a digital dash, And I would have went with an electric fire extinguisher to avoid the horrible pull cables, I think you prefer working on it than driving it :-) |

Yep sometimes you do things with good intentions but you regret it The car was bought for £1500 some 9 years ago to basically keep me alive through some very difficult / expensive dark divorce months ...it was never meant to evolve The dash is mainly for Rev counter and gear indicator and most importantly G and lap times/ speed if I’m being honest.... The gauges on the dash are more for info setting up the car... The DTA dash isn’t that big even though it’s expensive.....so to keep it from being too cluttered the dash gauges may end up being a bonus ...fingers crossed I have a electronic 360 gas Lifeline in the garage not fitted ( I’ll post a pic later ) but I prefer old school mechanical ...you know where you stand Thank you again |

Been a messy day / bugger of a pain in the ass day -removing the original Satchell modified clamp and CV boot I originally fitted —-( far to well )many years ago which I bonded in also - won’t do that again....Had to plasma a hole to the top left hand corner for the new box Sequencial gear selector rod to pass through to meet the gearbox selector ... I’m going to make two steel plates and weld them back on to cover the NOW huge hole ...luckily the rod only goes in and out so only a small hole and tiny CV boot end needed on a tube ... Also welded the plate into the recessed hole for the old gear-lever plate/ treated it and painted it and seam sealed it inside and underneath the car ...this won’t get seen as it’s under the Carbon control panel being made soon off my metal pattern ... Because I’ve put my Gear-lever so far back next to the steering wheel ..the selector rod was 70mm to short ...so I just put a hollow tube inside both sides and welded / extended it with some zinc tube on the end -luckily I had the correct bore / size in my metal scrap box ...then etch primed it and sprayed the welded on ends.... |
