Thanks for the comments. I'm pleased how it turned out. It was a mess when I got it and it has been satisfying cleaning it up. Only downside is I've spent more than I would've liked, spent a LOT more than what the car is worth.

Got bored today so decided to do a compression test to see how the engine is. Results seem to be decent;

Timing belt end
190
190
195
190

Not sure how long I'm going to keep it for as I've got a list of other cars I'd like to start on. Don't even know what the 6 would be worth. Not much service history, got lots of old MOTs, kept all my receipts from the work I've done, timing belt done August 2014 (no receipt), 88000 miles, bodywork average for age. Any ideas?

Looking at about 1400-1800 I'd say as even there's a lack of history you've spent alot of cash on getting it back to great health and white is a desirable colour.

Well I would be happy if I managed to get 1500 for it!

Just noticed today, having replaced the clutch, anyone know why the bite point would be extremely low? Basically have the pedal pressed right down and only have to let it out very very slightly before biting. Is this normal? Doesn't bother me but just wondering!

Cable maybe?

Thanks

good work

i had the same issue when i got a new clutch...

i think the 306 had a self adjusting clutch mechanism but it was removed due to "reasons"

bonus is you can use the bite point as a gague to work out how much meat is left on the clutch

I would have said 1750 due to rarity of a Bianca phase three and the work you've done getting it to where it is Smile

Forgot to mention this a while back. Am I right in saying the engine takes 4.7 litres of oil? When I came to filling it, it took the whole 5 litres. I'll check the dip stick tomorrow again, but the other day it still wasn't showing at the top notch on the stick. Used Total Quartz7000...

Sure it's 4.5 litres of oil for these engines.

*edit just checked and it says 4.5 in the servicing FAQ*

I have some left over when doing an oil change using a 5 litre pack filling to the top mark on the dipstick.

The bay was cleaned n painted previously so wont need addressing for a bit

the pegs in the top hold it in place there

and put some decent sticky back velcro on you're headlight trims and on the back of the grill that'll hold everything fine! Wink
