My twopence worth my Rallye is super highboost and weighs 1000kg more or less, I need to get it on a weighbridge, I won't lie it's very very fast but on a twisty section of road its very hard work to go as fast as in a mildly tuned 6 purely because you can't use full throttle everywhere, but coming out of corners onto very short straights I can push ridiculous speeds, if you're doing mainly track work Pete is right a 300bhp supercharged car would be very good. I've always hankered after a high powered N/a bit that's put me off is the maintenance and longevity as I tend to thrash the living sh1t out of engines feel like I'd end up rebuilding it every 500 miles.________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

I'd be more worried about running 300hp through a standard bottom end if it's going to be for track work...________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |

230 wont be that expensive, make it a 2.2 and it becomes very easy on mild cams but you would need rods and pistons.no need for ACL bearings, not the expensive ones anyway, and if you're going to bother moving away from o.e rod bolts go for decent ones like Carillo. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I agree that having watched a lot of cars with SB engines there performance seems very good and failures aren't too common. at the time the btcc parts were top end spec but are they really as good now nearly 13 years later I know if I was spending the money I'd be using new stuff and following who builds championship winning engines with good reliability. ________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |
