I'm building mine this weekend hopefully. Omex bodies, Maniflow 4-2-1, Longman's ported and polished head and Piper 270 cams. Should be a fair bit more than standard I'm hoping!

Only because my treadless Dunlops were breaking free at 260bhp LOL

NO seriously ..they were spinning even with extra straps & tyre grip spray ....it's bloody quick ask anybody who was at FCS & it's smooth useable power all the way through the rev range Thumbs up
I'll worry about BHP when my full engine gets done this time next year .

Just read this from start to finish, very interesting indeed. Looks great and you seem pleased with it, any ideas what it's cost now you have done? Whats the plans with the engine next then?

the rollers Sandy uses dont have data capture capabilities and also the rollers themselves are quite worn, however are well maintained and calibrated, he can still get fairly consistent wheel figures.

the engine dyno is a different kettle of fish totally, it's only a few years old.

Yes had so much power it broke the rollers LOL LOL LOL

Mei has put 2.2 idea in my head John & Sandy said no problem with a crank he has in stock ?
Nothing to extreme on ...want reliability ...and maintenance free ish ...hydraulic lifters ....not to crazy cams ....I would be happy with 220-230 with lots of torque because my cars not stripped Thumbs up

Money wise I've spent far to much & I never really want to add it all up !!!!

But I've had so much help not just money wise from some amazing people on the way ....Miles / Mei / Jenvey / Sandy Brown / Colin Satchell / Dave=tigger ..../....

Lost 3 close friends over the last 5 years to Cancer / heat attacks / hanging of all bloody things !!!!!!
So I'm going to enjoy the little money I have while I'm here ....and hopefully keep smiling ....
Do two jobs to get by & pay for my Toy Whistle

PS going through a horrible court battle with my Ex as we speak !!!!!
So this with my two children keeps me going M8 Thumbs up

As Mei said it will be tested & run in on the engine Dyno for me I expect .....Thumbs up

Tough to hear the spot you're in mate, and to read how positive you stay aswell as make all this progress! Some huge congratulations are in order my friend!!

You just got to keep going m8 & there are people I've spoken to yesterday that don't have there health that I do !!!!
So I'm really lucky at my age of 40 bloody seven ...

Hope lots of you will be around at Pugfest & If I end up getting the correct tyres I want will see what a totally standard Engine mapped correctly can do with a few bolt on things LOL Whistle

Come Rain or shine I'll be up that hill flat out !!!!

Finally got mine installed and running at the weekend with the Omex ECU. Everything seems ok at the moment although barely driven it as the engine is a full build so needs running in etc. and also needs mapping

Dan please go really careful if it's not mapped m8 ..I think base maps are only safe & good for getting the car started for mapping?
I'm sure someone's given you a good base map but I personally would be scared to run a car in on a non mapped new engine .

Miles is giving me a better base map than the Omex one which is a bit rubbish apparently. I don't think I've even hit half throttle yet Smile

you'll get the running in done on the RR, if its a total fresh build then it needs to sit at 2k for 20 minutes anyway to bed the cams in!

Not total fresh build. Only real things that's new are main / big end bearings and all the oil seals?

Have you got any updates

Did x6 15mins slots @ Forge Action day / Combe yesterday & was the quickest I've driven Thumbs up
Couple of 306oc boys got some videos to post so I'll put them on here ...
My Mechanic m8 Martin did Drive 2 slots ...he's more sensible than me Thumbs up

The car feels more sensitive but corners flatter with the 30ARB the new rear dampers Just soak up the bumps & I'm able to fly into Quarry & brake so much later now.
Same setup as Miles now & it just works Crazy

Can't see what else I can do to improve the car other than Welshpugs 2.2 Sandy engine ?
I wasent really getting left behind or out powered on the straights by any of the big Power boys....most seem to back off coming into the fast corners & I don't ...so it evens out ...
Camp I can take at scary speeds also now ...the car just gives you confidence & amazing feedback ...I can almost tell when it's letting go .
The cars handling just made for a epic day & the engine more than held its own ...

Two cars written off there yesterday Crazy ....
I think lots of other people then had a reality check of how dangerous Combe & Action days can be ?....

Loads of big power cars /stripped & caged yesterday didn't cause any probs & they were in all sorts of trouble in the rain early morning & mine was just epic & usable smooth power in the wet ...
Dunlops were great in the wet surprising me & amazing later in the dry !!!!

Most important though Dan .....
.....How does it drive ?
Has it given you better usable power ?
Are you happy with the spend for what you have gained ?

No idea, haven't driven it yet! Smile It's in the second race car at the moment as I'm racing next weekend so haven't had chance to move it over in to the main race car.

The power and torque curves look good so it should be pretty usable. Power is important to me as it dictates which class I'm in!

I'm never happy with the car, there's always a list of things to change!
