So you will be even less able to afford the engine by buying the bodies then...?

Surely just get everything together to build the lump. Get it done, then get the bits like bodies manifold etc once the lump is together??!

Mei ..I want Bodies now alittle bit more power & the sound ... 180-190 would be great with my current engine not touching even the cams ...also the Exhaust joints are getting sorted Weds by Infinity & Satchshift should be sorted by this Friday !!!!
My reason for the bodies now is the engine is still great & spot on at the mo & I don't want to tear it apart & £3500-4500 needed for just for the Engine if I'm going 2.1-2.2 , I still will have to buy the Throttle Bodies anyway so I can buy them now & get it mapped before 12months time ...hopefully engine ?
It doing things backwards...
Basically I want Bodies now Crazy
Stupid yes !!!

Sorry Martin ...only child inpatient Thumbs down
Plus Omex is just up the road & I love that fuel rail system !
May still go Jenveys yet ?

710 Omex because of 8 injectors ....my mistake LOL

those omex bodies look rather expensive way of doing it, Jenveys with a direct pull linkage and a satchell inlet will be more than sufficient and a couple of hundred quid less.

some of those prices are rather eye watering!!!

I have a plan Mei ....if it doesn't come off 100% ...Jenveys it is ....really do long term want 8 injectors ....I'm aware mapping costs loads more as well ...I'm only going to buy this stuff once & I want the ECU that can do everything I want now next 12months / future !

you cant do 8 injectors easily with omex inlet, you can if you do it very easy with satchell and jenvey.

mapping wont cost much more for 8 over 4 injectors if anything, depends how well prepared the car is when you get it to the mapper.

DTA S40 can do that.

Want a Satchell inlet with my Omex bodies if I can't its Jenveys !!
Any reason why I couldn't Mei ?

Been told Omex is a better for mapping as when you do settings you don't save them they are active as you ajust Mei & for mapping 8 injectors Omex 710 has better adjustment / timings & is the best Ecu ?

Have you had any dealings with DTA Mei
Miles is going Omex 710 & 8 / this way with 50s!!

Hopefully Mei ..your going to be doing my Engine Roll eyes

Right Mei 100% now ....my mapper / tuner in Bristol / John has just been on ..
It's s40 from Alex & 45 Jenveys from Cheapest & Satchell inlet exchange off Miles ...45s are better as something to do with Airflow ?
45s are good for 250 well enough for me in the future !!!
Still 8 injectors & a day of tuning & cold start tuning at the end in Bristol ...

Wonder if I can get this done by Pugfest ????

I'd get it down to Cornwall, well worth the trip.

Miles is aiming for high 200's, so not surprised he's going for big bodies.

S40 can do twin injectors and is £250 less than the 710, that'll pay for the mapping nearly.

That Bloody Mei/ Welshpug (LOVE HIM) talked me (easily)into buying / ordering Jenvey 45s today with DTA 40s also a Colin Satchell inlet & running x8 injectors Thumbs up ...I'm going to try to get it all done & mapped before FCS ....going to be tuff as DTA 40s are not available & about until Middle of next week & I need a loom making Crazy .

Just keeping totally stnd engine at mo so I'm not expecting much more power but a bit & a little more torque ...hopefully the missing middle end torque now I have a decat can be mapped back in a little ?...

How are you going to plumb in the extra 4 injectors, is it a special inlet manifold?.

that bit is a doddle, satchell inlet uses the o.e one cut to length and DCOE pattern flanges welded on, therefore the inboard set of injectors will use the o.le fuel rail and FPR, the outboard injectors use a jenvey rail.

plumbing goes tank - front fuel rail -o.e fuel rail - FPR - tank.

Dose your zx just run off one set of injectors at idle/low load? I'd assume you could help touring economy if you mapped it like this, and when you go full tits you run both sets.

you dont run both sets to get more fuel in, but to get it in at a better mix, i.e at higher gs speeds and stronger pulse waves the fuel will mix better when injected further from the valve.

so yes at lower load/rpm the inner set only are used.

currently im only on one set however as one of the outers was duff, theyre still bolted in place but not turned on or infact mapped, might gain some mid range torque without needing as much fuel with the second set Is my understanding.

There's no reason why you couldn't achieve the same thing with a Satchell manifold mounted to the Omex bodies?

Spoke to Miles about this before buying Jenveys he said Omex were using & buying Jenveys as Mei said but 100% now are making there own with new design !
He's not sure if the Satchell inlet will fit 100% because of Manufacturing difference & they are that new design !!
Miles is going to use them with 710 Omex box which is £845 near as dam ..because he's going to x8 injectors & the Omex 600 will only do stnd x4 .
I would of liked to use the Omex but because I wanted a Satchell inlet & it's tried & tested & the DTA 40s is £300 cheaper than Omex 710 also Sandy Brown prefers DTA for me it's a no brainier !!!!
Mei talked common sense into me ....Whistle

I didn't personally want to buy something I wasn't 100% sure about working & fitting ?

My only concern with the DTA is that the company has gone bust. Is there an official or well recommended place to get it fixed if the ECU breaks? It's unlikely to happen but you'd be kicking yourself if the ECU dies in a years' time and you can't get it fixed anywhere.
