if you had marked and drilled accurately you shouldn't need to bend them.... ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

How brilliant are AeroCatch UK ...Rang them up & spoke to a chap called Graham & two (steel) not alloy ...Extreme Strike pins on the way to me FOC today .... Makes sense what he said if everything is to stiff & strong it passes the impact downwards to another location . So they are designed to break !!! I shouldn't of tapped them with a small rubber hammer though |

Need a pair of these for my new carbon skin bonnet. Looks like I'll be going for the "extreme" ones then if the red ally ones are made of cheese....Could people put up some pics of where they have mounted them from top amd bottom and the slam panel please? Presume the kit comes with a template? ________________________________________ Black power baby! The red ally ones are fine so long as they're used correctly. They only started using the extreme ones because Milners kept breaking the bonnets loose - but then the clamshells weigh about 30kg each and keep bouncing off trees so....________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Thread bump....I've just bought some "extreme" aero catches with the steel pins onto cheese aluminium ones and will be looking to fit them shortly. Where's best to mount them on the bonnet / slam panel and which way round? As Damien has or other way round by 90 degrees? Anyone got any pictures or an opinion as to which way works best? Itching together a carbon bonnet back on the car now. ________________________________________ Black power baby! On the race car I drilled out the rubber bungs on the slam panel and mounted the pins there. If it's any use, you're welcome to come over and take measurements?________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

By rubber bungs do you mean the height adjustment things? They just wind out, no need to drill. At least on a p.1 they do.________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

I shouldn't really need measurements thanks mate will just measure it out myself from a suitable place on the slam panel to an even point on the bonnet each side. More thinking though it says to mount them as Damien has with small end facing forwards I'm more inclined to mount them Accross the face of the bonnet instead as I much prefer how it looks for one thing and they won't be the only thing holding the bonnet down as the carbon bonnet I have still retains the standard bonnet catch but it's only a few screws into carbon fibre that hold the latch part on. Thought I best add the aero catches too as the car goes over 100mph far too easily. Don't want it flying off at speed ________________________________________ Black power baby! There are some holes in the slam panel already which line up perfectly with where you need them. That's what I used and I've been over 100mph with no problems at all.I would be more concerned with your centre latch though as when I ONLY had the outer catches, anything above 50mph, the bonnet was flapping faster than a pornstars snatch in a 100 strong gangbang. ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

Yours is just a very thin fiberglass skin so unsurprising it flapped in the breeze I'll have aero catches and centre catch and bonnet has a full proper carbon frame too so a lot more solid than your one but still surprisingly weighs f**k all. Must be half of what my other carbon bonnet weighs ________________________________________ Black power baby! My single skin carbon kevlar bonnet flapped around loads with just aerocatches in the corners, so I added an extra in the middle at the front which made it better. I then added some ally flat strips which stiffened it up no end. One of the nuts came off on one corner at 80mph causing the bonnet to fly up, ive never hit the brakes so hard! ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

I changed the bolt that holds the catch mechanism on to be much longer and then made a hole in the bonnet badge so the bolt pushes through it and stops the bonnet flapping. Only works for me because I don't have hinges as the whole bonnet is removable.________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |
