Without going in to too much detail, this particular vehicle is well known due to a slight incident (well, a total loss) several years ago ~2007/2008I don't know the exact details on the incident itself, so others may be best placed to explain that side. What I can tell you, is that the car/salvage was bought from insurance with forum donations. I think I'm right in saying a good couple of thousand was raised to fix it up, pass it around between known members and allow regular meets and 'self service' tutorials to create many of the current FAQ's kept on here. Unfortunately, one of the well known members (Welly I believe he called himself) let everyone down by taking the large sum of money, bodging the vehicle back together on a shoe string (Photos will exist on here somewhere I am sure - although the auto delete function does get rid of old threads) and moved it on for £2995 IRRC with no money going back into the club. ________________________________________ |

Believe this moonstone is the one with the xsi engine with gti6 inlet and exhaust manifolds if you look at I believe the ns rear you'll be able to see the panel gaps where the rear quarter was replaced after the horse incident. Didn't think it was allowed back on the road this one anyone got a link to the original thread I can't seem to find it?________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

The thread was deleted by the OP when he advertised it for sale. He didn't want people to see the extent of the repairs - for obvious reasons! The best thing you can do Barry is remove the door seal on the B pillar next to the rear side window and check the spot welds. If you can get pics we can finally see how well the quarter was actually fitted. It may well have been done to a decent standard, but there was talk of it being thrown back together. ________________________________________ |

Well... I'll play the devils advocate here and say it actually looks pretty good..Considering the MASSIVE damage it sustained. ________________________________________ 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 1802008 BMW K1200R |

How corrosive is milk? Anyone know? I'm just thinking about what it would mean if stuck in the quarter or maybe further in the shell.Obviously we know black lock was intact so not a concern ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |
