I have owned the car since 2006 except for a year when I went travelling and left it in the hands of a Porsche mechanic, who looked after it well.

Mechanically it has been looked after & kept in good condition. It is still as sweet as ever to drive :-)

Cosmetically it could do with some love. There is some rust on the bonnet, wear in the interior (as expected on a car of this age), a few minor door dings but nothing major. Cambelt was changed at 62000

I love this car and am hoping it will go to a good home where it will continue to get the love it deserves. Reason for selling is that we don't have the need for 2 cars anymore, it has only done 3000 miles in the last few years. The diesel always seems to get chosen for the longer journeys (for obvious reasons).

Hi, Cambelt was done by Peugeot at 62000 receipt says needs to be done every 60000 so will be due in 4000 miles.

    Both myself & my husband have a vague recollection of getting it done a few years ago but I can't find a receipt. I will check with my old mechanic to see if he has a record.

    Regardless - I agree that it does need doing & am not debating it at all - I am happy to discount accordingly or get it done before sale. Whichever a genuine potential buyer prefers.

    ps - If folk in the know say 30K it would be nice if they informed Peugeot so they can amend their receipts! I am just a regular girl with no mechanical knowledge of my own! :-)

    is this from a strut top smashing on bonnet, cant clearly see where the damage is on the bonnet?

    Are you firm on the price as everyone says, cambelt is due and that bonnets scrap. Old motees to back up mileage?

    Hi, Rust is from weird lacquer problem with the paintwork on the bonnet. The problem was there when I bought it - to be honest I always intended on replacing the bonnet but never got round to it as it only really showed up in certain lights.

    If you look closely at the bottom left of the picture there are tiny lines that look hairs on the paint. this is across the whole bonnet (bonnet only - nowhere else). Rust is just where water has eventually worked it's way into the cracks. I was told by a Peugeot man that there were a few that came out with this problem something to do with when the original paint was put on apparently? It wasn't covered by warranty so I never pursued it.

    I am flexible on price - yes cambelt is due & yes can back up mileage.

    I thought was 40k for a cambelt??

    Seems a reasonable price if you get belt etc etc done glwts.

    I have had a quote for the cambelt and am happy to either knock £270 off price (to £680 ono) or will get it done before purchase if requested by a serious buyer.

    They often fail after 35k.
    Most people do them every 30k nowadays.

    36k is the correct interval, as said though 30 ish for peace of mind! Thumbs up

    I know that happened to a clio 172 that I bought a few years ago, the aux belt went took the cam belt with it and in turn the whole top end,cost me £1600 in repairs before I got it home, never felt right after that and I eventually sold it to ITV as a cast car on Corrie!

    I am tempted to get Cgs to collect it and pay the delivery costs.

    Cheers Rikky, needs a new bonnet,the front right spring replacing before it snaps(front left done recently after it snapped) and the belt done and it should be a really nice standard car.
