I've got a 180amp 3 phase MIG welder just not had chance to get it all sorted yet. Winter car rebuild needs to be done first before I get that sorted.

I no what you meen , have still loads more I have to do on car before I get it out again , need to drop subframe so can seam weld , and put lower brace on , maybe fit quick rack while i am at it , also would like to fit cams and pocket pistons before I get it mapped amongst other job , the list goes on m8

finished fitting up n/s carbon door inside and out so dropped front sub frame and started prepping for seam welding

I posted on OC as well but can you take photos while you're doing the seam welding? I want to do it on mine so would be good to get some idea of what's involved Smile

hi dan , just prepped on any seams were it was joined with grinder , and welded every other inch , but after welding inch moved to opposite side so not to get any distortion in sub frame , will take picture to show what I mean , but it been done and hammer sh*ted already

The mig welding forum is helpful. I've been teaching myself when I've got short bits of time available using scrap metals and offcuts. There's plenty of info out there, each time I practice I get a bit better, so just keep practicing I guess!

There are loads of tig welding videos on youtube which is what i used to help teach myself to weld, i'd assume there will be plenty of mig ones out there too. Thumbs up

made a start on stripping front end of car this afternoon , so can remove engine and get to engine builder , and want to nake new complete race weight car loom and freshen up front end ,

Looks like the exact size I want, something a bit lower than standard for more clearance for an air box. Something to sort out later on.

started cleaning up suspension part ready for refit , here are the PTS adjustable tubular wishbones , have also ordered loads of bits for rebuild , so absolutely loads to get on with

took delivery of more stuff for car , got a load more carbon fibre to make more panels for car , and got ph2 vts rack of bigbadbowen , done me a real good deal , and started cleaning up and painting 5 alloys that are for my wet tyre , so will get them fitted over weekend to free up a bit more space in man cave ,
