Summer is approaching fast and race season is here so what better time to get the car rolling. Pete has now fitted my Spax PSX kit all-round. Numerous oil and coolant changes coupled with my new nissens rad will ensure she will run nice and cool. Changed the wheels for temporary 1.9 pepper pots.
Bolted in Petes temporary S16 seat, MOT'd, insured and taxed and now on the road! Took her for her first propper drive Saturday and it feels great! Everything exactly as it should, just a little bit more rattly as i need to clean the inside. I got srews and rivets rolling around on every corner. Feels very responsive though and just pulls in every gear at any rpm.
Next step is brakes and wheels Wink

Not exactly. No-one is sure as to what it could be so we have decided rather than strip the engine to bits looking for something, give the standard lump a bit of time to see if it corrects itself. If not, i have bought a spare Vts lump from Pug_306 Thumbs up

Thanks bud. It has been a slow build but it will be worth it. As much as i would love for it to be charged for Pugfest, i cant see it happening. Ive got everything required to fit the charger except a power steering pipe Thumbs up

So a few things have been fitted now.
Got some OMP seat mounts to bolt my Cobra kevlar buckets to...



And fitted the RS 310mm brembo kit. Of course had to get the 16's on too.

So, the charger has now been finished and is good to go (bar the injectors Doh ). Now im very excited!



The charger cooler is fitted above the FMIC and unfortunately we had to remove the front fogs to accomodate the 16row oil cooler. But its in (just!) and looking nice and stealthy...



Aaron6 has played a massive part in helping fit the cage. Its now bolted into the plates which are welded to the shell. Its a propper solid fit! Excuse the poor pic, we finished it at 11pm hence the dark lol



A bit of a fire in the filler neck tunnel. Thats why you must remove the tank and filler neck





While the tank is off, we are swapping it for a baffled phase 2/3 one.

Ive wrapped my bonnet and bonded these carbon load spreadding plates on for the pins...



And cut out and meshed some vents...

One of the spal fans runs off the original wiring, the other is connected to a switch to run it on high power as and when i wish...

Nope Big grin decided against that idea in the end uprated the relay and the wiring to both fans and both work off the normal fan sensor in the rad and the switch works both on high speed by sending a live to the relay Thumbs up

Hopefully get this thin running tomorrow fingers crossed.

So, picked the car up last Friday night with a rather large smile on my face Big grin what a great feeling to get it back after being in great hands and getting a 90odd bhp increase! I took it steady to begin with and gradually used more and more throttle. After 150miles i began to use all the power (up to 6,500rpm). Ive now done near 300 miles without fault and the car is performing great! The noise is immense too Devil She certainly get s lot of looks wherever it goes. I think my bonnet plays a big part in that too lol.

Prepping for first drive



New single skin FG bonnet



Took these rediculously high (apparently-40mm) springs off and replaced with the ones on left ( -40mm spax off Aaron6) and it sits much nicer



Offside came down 19mm and nearside 26mm!
