Been driving it about with no water in it , hence why the fans aren't working hence why it keeps playing up i presume the coolant sensor needs coolant to work. I only realised late last night that my temp gauge is stuck after i over heated it. Filled it up with water apart from it now smoking a lot it drives better. I think I may retire from this forum before the abuse starts

Yeah has I feel i do now owe it one i probably just swap the engine when i come back from traveling, I'm sure the up rated cams are causing it to run funny , and I seem to remember it being quick enough before they were fitted, tho i didn't drive it for 3 years. Shame i realised when it was too late

Oh dear.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the HG wasn't gone, mine dumped all the coolant through a hole in the rad and I only realised when I looked down and the temp gauge was really, really high.

A month later HG symptoms appeared and slowly got worse and worse until it completely went.

Thought you had a compression test and a sniff test though.

Yeah they did that was 180 miles ago now , the bottom hose is leaking i just didn't realise how much it was leaking, i then just gave up and thrashed the hell out of it which caused it to over heat

Commit Peugeot suicide by the sounds of it. I feel neglect has a large part to play in your issues here...

I'm going to get a new bottom hose fitted then just run it about see how i get on, I'll probably keep my eyes open for a complete engine has it's been tapping since I had the cams fitted anyway.
Neglects a strong word just something ive over looked.Thumbs up
