Been thinking how to improve the air feed to the filter, it must suffer massive heat soak still even with the air scoop, can you use enclosed filters with the supercharger setup? What are most supercharger boys using ? I'm not fussed on looks as its mainly track car really, was thinking of using a Renault bonnet scoop small one think of phase can't remember , that would ensure good air feed to filter?

You can use a closed in one yes. Yes

I use the open one that is supplied on mine, I've thought about possible improvements before but then with 450bhp do I really need them?

I even had it all drawn up ready to manufacture.

I thinks that's what I'm going to do on my superhighboost the original location of the air filter is good but an enclosed box the same as the btcc cars used must be a good way forward? wonder if there was any pics of the btcc car airbox remember seeing one years ago but thread has been auto deleted.

Is there any reason why you can't keep the stock air box down behind the rad on the right or is the right hand intercooler pipe in the way?

I can hand draw you a mock up of the design less dimensions if interested? I went for the ZR filter as its size was spot on the fit in where the normal one is. It has a internal baffle to space it from the hot engine and guide air towards the outlet.

Too much in the way yep, intercooler pipe and sc oil filter. Can all be moved around though if you really want to make something work Yes

Id like to come up with some sort of heat resistant enclosure for mine in its current position. Where it is now is best for airflow im sure, thats the key Yes

I was thinking of putting my bmc cda on mine with a cold air feed from the front, possibly fog light.

Not sure if it will suffocate the car being so inclosed but he, its worth a try.

If you want to use a BMC CDA you could just get one of the larger models, the ACCDA100-220 or something like that. It doesn't give the BHP ratings on the site but there is even one there for muscle cars if your after something for high boost. Not sure on the size/location of it, I bet with the battery relocated you would have plenty of room though

Your using inter-cooler's is it really going to make much difference? They don't move that much air anyway, Being an SC the charge temps should be lower as well.

You might break something if you keep messing around Smile

Other way round superchargers still raise intake temps? could give some decent performance gains I think?

It doesn't matter if its supercharged or turbo'd. Either way, if your compressing air, it will get hot. The cooler the air is that goes in, the cooler the air is that comes out into the manifold. Yes having a intercooler makes a big difference but again if the air going in is cooler, the air coming out of the intercooler should be cooler and we all know that cooler air is better Big grin

Me and a mate were toying with the idea of water injection or even water / meth injection. It reduces inlet temps by a stupid amount and massive power gains result if it's mapped for it.
