I want it moved from there but dont know where to put it? Not really the best place for it there as in the winter it will get covered in water and crap. Was thinking of putting it in the standard ecu box and bolt it to the chassis leg. Need to order some ducting hose for the throttle body too as I dont like it open where it is.

Well all that chopping was a total wast of time Laugh my ass off PAS relocation kit arrived today. Totally different setup to what i was expecting. Looks like I could have 2 options on what pump to run? Standard gti6 pump with smaller pulley and auto tensioner or the bigger MI16 (I think) Pulley with manual tensioner.

Move the ecu, the vibrations will cause it problems after a while. Mount it inside in the passengers glovebox or down that way

Had abit of an issue yesterday. I thought my manifold had just cam apart so went to put it back together today to find 1 of the pipes off the bead had snapped! Sad time to get the welder out. Pulled all the heat wrap off at the same time as it was a bit tatty and worse for wear. All welded up and sounds a lot better than before. Must have been ready to go by the look of it tho. Also found a talbot grill sticker I bought when I had the 205 so what the hell, that went on too Big grin

There alloy ones what sit on the chassis leg in place of the PAS bottle. Will be replacing my PAS for an electric one at some point so will have some room.

The electric pas pumps weigh a ton Chris, i couldnt believe the weight of the one i got!
I'm currently without pas on a ph1 xsara rack with loads of caster, trying to park is hilarious - much like the golf caddy thing in austin powers Laugh

Laugh my ass off I can imagine. I just want rid of the PAS bottle off the chassis leg. Is it really that heavy? Could always look into moving the PAS bottle instead if it comes to it

Yes I thought i'd be clever and get an epas setup but instantly binned that idea when it arrived in the post and felt the weight of it. If i get chance tomorrow i'll weigh mine and put it on here, guessing its around 10kg. I may have to fit it in the future though once i get a proper diff. Sad

Or hit the gym? :p

I'm not looking forward to seeing how the race car is without PAS and a diff on sticky tyres!

I dont really intend to run sticky tyres at this moment in time either so should be of. Sticky tires are too expensive and dont last long on everyday cars as I found out when I bought some a048s when I had the v6

Regards to your problem of lack of ecu protection, I think someone suggested it before somewhere, but one of those electrical housing boxes from rs components would be ideal. Ip rated to withstand the elements and it could all be mounted nice and securely inside.

You could even paint the box yellow or something haha

Yeah maplin do elecreical boxes would offer the protection it needs for next to nothing. Want something thays going to look tidy in the engune bay if I cant mount tge ecu inside the car. Black would be best instead of yellow tho LOL
