i follow the project threads, and am guilty of not always posting a comment, as sometimes i feel it a bit lame to just say 'nice work'

however, i am always grateful for comments on my threads.

i'll often reply to threads if i have positive input.

this forum has been very helpful to me, and i'll always hover on here, and keep my topics updated

i maybe back in a 6 sooner more than later Wink

Trouble is like every forum theres always a clicky crowd who know each other so comment on everything they post and newbies will find it hard to integrate etc. Also as said the cars are old and cheap now and have been around for a long time so 90% of the time most of the info your looking for can be found on search so people don't need to ask questions etc

People that go to meets will have a 6 and already be a member so doubt meets will make any difference. Iv known a few non peugeot owners friends of friends etc pop to meets and they havent joined up to any. I have a few 106 owner friends and they just cant be bothered with forums, one has built a track 106 on his own just about. Its just die hard yippeekyaa users now lol.

Forums like anything else has their day, that seems to be the same on all forums now and possibly people using search more too. This trend seems to be the same on non car forums too.

I tend to disagree with this. Our group may know each other now but we didnt. We got regular meets going and we all got to know each other. I know that many of the Maidstone boys do our best to encourage local newbies to come to the meets. The meets do increase forum interest as is shown by the banter and activity of the kent mob. Its also make life easier with the running of the cars as members become friends and are willing to help out however they can with whatever skills they may have. Such as daves (stilly) rallye. Between us we helped build a monster and much fun was had along the way.

Anyways, I digress. My point being that if the meets were not goimg on I wouldnt have met a lot of the people I see every week.

Imo more meets should be organised in more of the regions. Smile

This has been an interesting read. I'm not from the good old days, I think I joined as the decline started... but even in my short time I've seen the lack of meets and s**t like that.

I agree with the lurking, but at the same time, people just run out of interest. Threads die and as there aren't that many regular posters we don't have a wide enough spread of people to carry them. I guess that's the way with forums though?

I've not really been a member of any but this and an R6 forum, which was obviously open to the world with a mass produced vehicle. As others have said this is representative of model specific forum

I think some members must have lived on this forum judging by their post count. Roland rat has been here less than a year more than me and has about 4 times the post count as me and I thought I was on here a fair bit.

Just look at the amount of 6's that Roland has sent to the scrappy, there aren't enough 6's on the road anymore! Old cars, dying a death apart from some idiots throwing stupid money at cars worth nothing (I just can't stop buying things for mine) Smile

It just means that the people still here are the people I actually want to talk to!

My limited post count may well have been higher over the years. But any spare time I may have had to post on a forum is taken up by constantly repairing the Rallye...

Your post count went up massively after you tried to justify what happened to your 6 and it's non-suspension
