What exhaust systems are people using with the high boost set up?

Reason I ask is one of mine has a magnex decat and powerflow system,the centre box baffles are shot!
The other has magnex decat and system, the rear box baffles are shot!

Can any "off the shelf" systems cope with high boost??

I would get one made Smile Seems like the best option imo as all the off the shelf systems are compromised in some way to me.

Mine comprises of a Devil Decat, straight through centre section and 4" Magnex backbox. The decat managed to muller the centre box, and the straight through centre section has managed to muller the rear box. I'm not bothered though because it's now solely for road use only and at 131dB, it's fine.

It doesn't bother me on acceleration just when you let of it sounds s**t, granted at 131db I doubt you can hear much at all!
I will get a custom one made for the Dimma but what do I need to do to illuminate the baffle issue (without totally removing them)

Straight through pipe all the way Ollie manifold to the back would sound epic but you may be mistaken for a Jet Thumbs up

I think mine made 408bhp with a slightly modified 2.5" Blueflame and then 410bhp with a modified 3" Cosworth system.
The Blueflame is available for £200 collected.

It sounded like a Harrier Jump Jet with the Blueflame and a bit deeper but forgettable with the Cosworth one.

I do already lol the powerflow sounded like a jet whilst the magnex sounds like thunder, I can imagine yours will sound like the end of the world!

Plenty of cars that have more power as standard and don't have baffle failure, Im just worried that ill get one made and the same thing will happen 6 months later

I was thinking about a 3 inch system but was unsure if it would effect the bhp or torque, obviously I would need to get it remapped after??

Ollie I spoke to Rich about this and he recommended not to go over 2.75 inch due to the loss of back pressure a 3 inch system would give. was tempted for custom to go say 2.75 down pipe then 2.5 for the rest of the system. Smile

I was thinking the opposite and using the 2.5 magnex decat to a 2.75 custom system so hopefully the back pressure to the head will not be effected much but hopefully the decrease in pressure after the decat will be abit more gentle on the baffles.
I'm probably talking out my arse?!?

Not sure mate but its interesting that Ash saw a bhp rise when he went bigger diameter pipe makes me wonder wether its worth a 2.75 decat going to a 3 inch system? Dunno

Worth looking into at least. Mine won't be ready for an exhaust for some time so plenty of time to research and speak to rich, Wayne and the exhaust place

Group A manifold FWIW. If you have the money I'd recommend the Cosworth set up. With a supercharger you need the boxes close to the end of the system because of the extreme heat. Mine is 3" straight through until two large silencers sideways behind the rear beam. About 97dB at 4500rpm.

ive got 3" straighttrough, with a Simons 3" "turbo" backbox with custom titanium 100mm tip







dont know yet how this will sound... Wink

Much quieter than ours! With the supercharger you don't have a turbo silencing the valve/engine noise before the down pipe Thumbs up

running a scorpion system for a while now, havent had any issues

*touches wood*

its fairly loud at high revs

anyone try using the decibel meter app?? wonder if i could test mine

I run full powerflow from decat back or a mix match scropion centre and an ashley back box i think not 100% either are to loud although get on knockhill easy enough but think id struggle at any other tracks.

I plan on putting two large silencer boxes under the bootfloor. Don't want to be stopped going on track.

As I've said before mine is SILLY loud but sounds the nuts! As you will hear at pugfest. I have a 2.75" decat down to 2.5" power flow system which has two small boxes that appear to do nothing at all other than change the note slightly but they cant be called "silencers".

Been using a couple of GO PRO camera systems with mates lately and all of them have reasonably loud exhausts on turbo and NA cars yet when mine goes past one of the cameras it's much much MUCH louder than there's on full chat. Also during tunnel runs if I'm booting it then no one else either end of the tunnel can hear their own car lol
