I'd be checking the cam timing tbh, unless it specifically happened when the exhaust was fitted, any other similar spec 306's you could do a comparison with?

Basically went from standard system to a blowing system to this. Obviously, I've taken a lot into consideration, the placebo effect of the blowing exhaust being louder etc at top end, but I really do believe there's a restriction.

It just doesn't pull as it used to, honestly, it's like a diesel!

My girlfriend has also commented saying that seemed flat to her. This is obviously after I've been s**tting on about it. Is it worth getting a video of the rev counter/speedo?

I really do believe the problem is there, just need to prove it! LOL

Well, not really. It sounds as if there's a handful of nuts and bolts inside my cat.

I can only assume that it has collapsed and is therefore helping it be less restrictive

Dont really see why you can even get 2 inch exhausts for these in that case

Wall thickness is surely irrelevant. Pipes are measured on their nominal bore size so a 2 1/4" pipe will measure larger.

It makes me wonder which sizes are correct as alot of people seem to go by the outside diameter.

Why the hell would anyone measure the outside bore when the gases escape through the inside bore ?

So whats the maximum bore size thats best without getting any blow back of gases?

Would 2.5 inch bore be good to use ?

I believe 2 1/4 is optimum but I run a 2 1/2' magnex and it made no noticeable difference to the 2"longlife I was running before hand.

Never use longlifes online quoting its a pile of s**t lol

Got a quote of £850 inc sports cat to back.

Called them and got a quote of £299 cat back and £299 for the sports cat and downpipe section.

Gonna get it done start if next month as taking to pug1offf to get the shafts redone next weekend.

Well, I was hoping I'd hear back from him today. I'll call tomorrow to find out what's happening.

coincidently my cat has collapsed, so potentially it's less restrictive or something else has gone, but the car now revs freely.

If it's decided to rebuild at 2 1/4, I'm gonna have to specify that my cat is left alone. They cut and welded a new flange onto my cat to connect up to the middle box

Well, I'm unsure if the pressure could rape a cat?

This is my reasoning
Cat lasts 13 years so far
One week and how ever many miles after a more restrictive exhaust is fitted it s**ts is own arse.
which is like the final 1/600th it spent fitted to your car

Surely that is not a conincidence

I know, I'm trying to think of a scenario that makes it seem coincidental

My cat ran fine on the longlife. If fact, its going back on as one of magnex is starting to s**t itself.
