Maintain it and you'll be fine The MOT is still fairly relaxed in what's acceptable TBH. ________________________________________ |

I'm unsure if you've become confused with the advisories. The 'new' parts of the MoT test have been going on since last year I think it was, but if vehicles weren't up to scratch on those they were just advisories. Today they became unquestionable failures. As far as I can make out, other existing advisories will still be there. A tyre close to the limit for example is an advisory. They won't suddenly fail you for being close to the limit. ________________________________________ |

yup had a special notice through any warning lights on dash basically are now fails (other than eml) when was just abs before. Its vosa's way of getting old cars off the road as no one wants to pay out to have diagnostics done on old cars worth a few hundred quid as it will often cost a lot more than the cars worth to diagnose and rectify / airbag faults for example.________________________________________ Black power baby! Cool, however as this is a classic vehicle now, I'll have to hide it somewhere until ALL the salt is off the road before I can recover it back to mine. I'll have to investigate and see if there is car storage available in Reading fairly cheap. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I wouldnt worry about the salt, i'd be more worried about the fact that the car has become 'one' within the woodland. Also gypsies took the most valuable parts off it years ago so you are mainly buying just a shell. |

I can see a few cars going to mr scrap yard. mines not due until july but i think if this passes it will be my last year. Have a broken spring at the moment. booking it in next week when im off. still need to do an oil change and im thinking i will run the risk of not changing timing belt as spending £300 on a car worth 1k max isnt worth it. if im only going ot run it for 12 months more. in the last two months iv shelled out money on 2/3 of the exhaust, a map / lanbda sensor, new tyre (nail) new radiator. got a funny feeling my rear tyres will need changing before the MOT. turning into a money pit. ________________________________________ Join Quidco the top cash back site and earn £1.25 from my referral link (once you earn £5) http://www.quidco.com/user/571859/1838 |

Plus the amount you loose in depreciation costs on a newer car etc. Once an old car has most parts sorted etc it will last another 20 years or so.________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug. Exactly. If I'd have bought a new car when I bought my Pug three years or so ago, I'd have lost more in depreciation and dealer servicing than my entire Pug cost to buy, maintain, and convert to a track car. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
