Today I fitted new lower arms and drop links, all was going well until the last bolt (except the wheel nuts) as I was levering the arm down to get the ball joint in the hub I pulled the p**sing drive shaft out! So I've got another job on my hands tomorrow, change the gear box oil. I've never done this before but I've read the FAQ and it looks easy enough, fingers crossed ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyone else ever f**ked up a relatively easy job and made it a bigger job?? |

I've been doing the whole front end (Drop links, track rod, wishbone, ball joint, shocks) done one side today and doing the other tomorrow. I thought ahead though and decided to drop the oil already, gives me an excuse to clean it out!________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! Yep Halfords is dearer. Genuine Pug stuff keeps your box happy.I did the same thing once when i was tired and not thinking - quickly put the shaft back in though and topped up. ________________________________________ I'm Si btw![]() Night Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper ![]() |

The plates have to display the correct markings. I have pressed plates and they are perfectly legal. As for box oil as everyone has said it's an awful smell. My box used to crunch in to 2nd when i brought my car, I then switched to pug oil and it has been fine ever since ![]() ________________________________________ Team Nile 6![]() Team: 40.2 MPG ![]() 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ ![]() I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness ![]() |

Buy a large orange Halfords oil funnel and fill the gearbox oil from the breather just below the battery with 2L from peugeot. |
