Welcome to my project thread
Had this for a few months now

and it had developed a few little problems
Gearchange was not nice and quite hard going into second almost like it only goes in 2 mm and can pop out if not held in place (was fine at first but lent it to a friend and it came back like that)
Then this happened...
Woo woo
Radiator
I bought an oe timing belt kit, water pump, and head gasket with bolts just in case
However after talking to a few members it would seem it will more than likely warped the head so...... No point messing about then.....

lol first attempt 4 hours or so with a few interesting discoveries on the way!!

I am going to have a little time to sort the bushes and stuff out pics to follow!
I'll get you to have a look at my beam for me if that's ok I'll chuck it in car and fetch it over unless you are down this way.
I have secured yippeekayay's low mileage engine and box
so have plenty of time to get other bits sorted

@rikky yeah I will be raising the suspension a bit I have heard bilstein dampers with suitable springs are the way forward.
@banksey they are beautiful nice hips and curves too lol one of my favourite car shapes
I am going to put the rebuilt engine into a 205 rallye they just don't have enough ummmmf about them fancy a yellow one next

I'll be stripping the car just a bit to improve the handling and power to weight ratio and I have some special seats for it in mind custom made for the rallye
Will want a solid bottom pully, lightened flywheel my ecu was supposed to have a superchip but I will have to open it to see if it does
Oh and it should have a ported throttle body but I guess again we will see!!

Rightio then I had quite a good sniff about whilst lying underneath the car and I might need a few bushes and arms lol it was never the best handling but it was better than most I have driven lol

Also I am sure this is on its last legs! Pass side balljoint

And think this needs replacing too

I take It the cracks are not decoration lol
Oh yeah and this as well

Lol I will need to sort out replacements soon

I am right that the bottom engine stay is knackered yeah
So is there another option to grp n mounts worth getting ? Not bothered about harsh as long as supple
I will be going solid rear mounts too in time
Also which bushes for bottom arms don't want roller bearings really but would like this to be a nice firm ride judging by the state of everything else I will change them while I am down there would I be better going down the new standard route
Would that be ok with solid rear or just replace rears with new I dunno what ya think

pugheaven has a decent pair of upgraded wishbones Yes

imho, i'd fit new standard engine mounts, but maybe fit a more solid bottom engine mount. chassis ok where you took top mount from?

Top mount was clean

But rubber thing didn't look great....

This end was loads shorter than other

And in car
Top if picture looks like it has worn away!!!

Glad to see another Black Rallye being worked on.
I found some heavy rust on the underside of the car buddy so be warned and check your chassis rails for rust under the rubber coating.
Especially if the rust is quite bad everywhere else lol :p

The top mount buffer sort of looks like that.

The best thing to do is fit some type of shim before refitting buffer

Who is this Ian you keep mentioning?

I've been told vibratechnics do half decent p bushes. I have new front wishbone bushes in stock
