Well I set off to see family this morning and found my twix and rocky bar from my lunch last week
down under my foot pedals. I found them chewed on with teeth marks they looked kind of big. Also they had been left on my back seats in a carry bag and some how moved to the front. So I carried on with my day and loaded the boot with gifts and found huge rat s**t and a f**king big hole on my back seats to which the c**t had tried to get though between the parcel shelf and seats.
So I drove home while i was s**tting it waiting for a rat to jump out between my legs.
But nothing luckly.
So on my CHRISTMAS day I took all seats out and and interior bits out with a axe at hand and found nothing. So I got my little ones baby powder and shacked it all over the inside of the Car to see where the f**ker is coming out off.
Anyway two hours passed and I went to check if it had left any trails and it did.
They lead up under the boot light area.
Its a hole with a flap on it. Does anyone know where it's leads to?...

Got a great rod Stewart CD by accident today for Christmas you can have... That should scare the little s**t out of the quarter panel where I am guessing he is holed up hitch hiking away....

This is the fuel pump/tank inspection hole ... I would check fuel/electric pipes in this area for 'chew' damage.

We had one at work inside a brand new range rover sport

It did that much damage to the looms that the car was eventually written off and ended up back at the factory and stripped for parts

I imagine the flap the OP mentions by the boot light area is up under the C pillar cover where the shelf joins and is a flap to allow air pressure to be released when the boot is slammed so the window doesn't smash.

I think he is on about the wholes in tye side at tue back with the flaps on not the big fuel inspection bung. Buy some hair spray and spray it in where ue rat lives that should kill the f**ker. Or put something nice and smelly for it to eat in there covered in poison. Look on the internet im sure tyere will be something in the house/shed which will kill it rather than buying rat poison.

To be fair what you probably have is a tiny mouse.

I had a small bas**rd living in my shed. He had one hell of an appetite. He would bring in poison laid down in other gardens, bring it in my shed and store it. His staple diet was microfiber cloths and paper towel.

the problem you have then is its hidden In a cavity when it dies and the smell when it starts to decompose will be disgusting!!!

We see this quite a lot, with cars coming into out dealership. Try setting fire to your car. This may get rid of the rat. : yes

Can you not get to that cavity area by removing the rear arch liner?

Some idiot that owned my car last didnt use an arch liner so all water spray went up in that area, soaking the sound deadening stuff and eventually leading to plenty of rust issues.

You could try one of them rat traps like above, they love mars bars so just put a chunk of mars bar inside and leave it a while. Caught a couple in the garden using them in the past.

This ^^^^. As a kid, I found a .22 calibre rifle would pretty much turn a rats head inside out. Yes

Its not a mouse for sure. i got a rat trap from b&Q as rat poison will make it hard for me to find when it dies and it will smell.
I will leave it for the night and see what happens.
