I could spin my wheels on the autobahn at 90+mph in the rain. I simply had no tread left. True story. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Ref tyres, I've read about a few project cars in magazines where people spend enormous sums of money bare shell re-spray, forged engines with superchargers, Recaro seats, custom ECU set-ups, coilovers, engine bay resprays - then they put some wheels with PCD conversion spacers and Toyo T1R tyres on it. What is the point of that? If you are going to spend all that on a forged engine etc, you might as well put your hand in your pocket for a set of half-decent wheels and tyres on it, so you don't kill yourself on the first wet roundabout, or see a wheel going past you on the motorway at 177mph. I also don't see the point of spending £££££ on a car that is sold when it is finished without even enjoying all the hard work; in lots of magazine features the owner is selling it/has already sold it when the feature comes out, and has bought another car and starting to spending £££££ on that. Still, it's not my money and if people earn as much as Richard Branson, which these people clearly do if they can afford to do all that twice a year, then they can spend/waste money on whatever they like. Some people have the attention span of a fruit fly. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I dont quite understand why you put the effort in typing this story... dont loose sleep over it oke mate, and why are you referring to tyres out of the blue? Ive seen 600BHP cars with stock tiny brakes.... that makes sense? Had a lot of fun, and frustration and whatever building this with Marvin, and yes i spend a lot of money!!! it got out of hand very quick. But since i cant find the motivation to continue and ive got other things on my head now, maybe i dont have the space anymore to work on the car in the near future. The best thing is to sell it... my money, my choice, my loss (financialwise , a big loss) |
