its either try this, spend some time and 50 euros on bearings and maybe get to drive it for a while or put it away and leave it as is and try again next year.

So im trying option 1... weve got nothing to loose Wink + im in my vacation time and im bored anyways Wink

I third that, its clear that the bearing has spun, the knocking will have been the oval rod flopping up and down on the crank..

I wouldnt waste bearings in it, pistons can be swapped to another conrod easily as they are circlipped in place not a shrink fit like the RFS.

Well, put in some new bearings, car ran good for about a min of 10 and then started to make the same annoying sound again.... so parked it in the barn and for now im done with it.

Slowly going to start with the forged engine build, and well see again next year.

Park it up leave it for a bit and the love will return, jeez, I haven't used my Rallye for about 14 months, took it for mot the other day and I realised why I loved it, still parked it back up tho, not taxing another bloody car.

Don't give up, giving up is for losers, don't take that the wrong way it's just inspiration but its true giving up is for losers, were all guilty of that once in a while though.

Shame to hear that mate Sad

Echo the others though, dont give up on it. Yes its very testing to your patience, f**king up after all the hard work/time/money gone into it, but for that reason, its stupid to get rid!

Leave it a few days and see how you feel Yes

As said elsewhere, you've got the bits to fix it. Lock it away and come back to it in a couple of months.

You will definitely regret it if you break it.

Uhmm i enjoyed building/searching for nice parts and hanging around working on the car with Marvin a lot.
Making a car nice, adding the personal touch is what i enjoy the most out of doing projects, and altough now only i spun a bearing which isnt a big issue i dont want to think about building the forged engine, dropping this engine, removing gearbox etc etc etc.

I dont know if this feeling will change in a few weeks, the car wont be getting any better from standing another year in the barn.

If got a few bids from people, which still and Obvious arent anywhere near what i spend, but maybe its just time to let it go.

I know when starting a project like this things dont Always go as they suppose to go, but almost everything we did, there went something wrong.

Also i was aiming for 400BHP + , dont know why that figure was in my head, and if the clutch hadnt played up we would easily achieved that, but now that ive driven the car with 350/360bhp i almost think that is more then enough really.
Its quick enough to blow the doors off of almost 99% of the cars you encounter on the road, handling is superb from a 6 which i didnt expect to be honest.

Ill have to think things over, without Marvin i could have never done this project since he knows peugs in & out.

Im sure if i would break it , i would get a decent amount of money back, since there are some really nice parts on the car and everthing is done nicely and good.

well just have to see, thankyou all for the support and nice comments... its been a hell of a project in just a couple of months.

It isnt worth the hassle for only a month fun, end of summer is coming, this car is useless when the roads get damp, i had wheelspin in 4rd gear on the way home from DP only from looking at the gaspedal (rain)

Geez im beginning to sound like a b*tch, lol

What a pussy, plenty of dry days, even in winter. Don't let one afternoon of pain cancel months of hard work and expense. Leave it a while, get drunk, have a w**k, smoke some weed, do all if the above, or whatever it takes to chill out and leave you with a clear head. Then, fix it like it needs to be fixed, and enjoy the fruits of your labour and enjoy the awesome car you have created.
First dibs if you sell though Big grin
