Heya mate, with this engine i wont be using a decompplateThis engine uses modified/weighed pistons wich brings it to 8.1 compression check http://www.dp-engineering.nl/shop-1/engine-internals.html?p=2 |

Takedown wrote: Heya mate, with this engine i wont be using a decompplate This engine uses modified/weighed pistons wich brings it to 8.1 compression standard DP engineering plate with two gaskets wil get you 8.5 compression dont take this the wrong way mate, but if your pistons were modified to give 8:1 then the crowns will be VERY thin, to go from 10.4:1 down to 8:1 would need 3mm, possibly more machined off piston face not unless your engine has pistons from another engine, such as the nissan SR20DET, which iirc share the same bore dia and gudgeon pin dia |

I know, Pieter from DP said i shouldnt worry about that to much... but if it blowsive got a S16 revised with DP decompplate and a stock revised motor on reserve... only means some more work to do when it goes boooom |

Wont be running E85, that will limit me to much on using the car , since i know of only one pump that sells E85 and that one is 25km away98 it will be... You should drop Pieter a mail @ DP.... there are a lot of boosted peugs here on stock engines |

I'm very tempted to go this route, but i would want to use ARP studs and nuts as opposed to head bolts, but if i was to pay for decomp and studs then i may as well go for forged pistons. plus i could rebore to 86.5mm to make 100% sure of a round bore |

300 is my ultimate goal although i would be happy with 250, my car will be for road use, want tokeep up with some more modern machinery. a road car will benefit more from a smaller turbo to gain the torque, but what i don't want is an engine than runs out of puff before 6000 rpm. Big turbos will give horsepower but will only do so at high (er) rpm which wont suit a the road For me its a balance between revs and torque |

Hmm never been out in a 2.0 16v with a GT28Rs i presume?... will spool a lot better and harder then the oldskool VAT25, wich was nice for that time, now just an oldskool turbo.Friends ZX with GT28RS and DP plate , and 328BHP was a perfect roadcar, enough power to humiliate the "fast" cars with your goal IMHO forged pistons is a complete waste of money, ditch the VAT25 T16 turbo, buy a GT28RS for the money you save instead of FPs, sandwichplate and your ready to have some fun... |

ive got a reconditioned cosworth T3, but to use this with my T16 manifold, i will have to fit an external wastegate as there isnt enough space between the head and the turbine housing to use the bolt on cosworth wastegate.i have been in a few sierras/escorts YB's and i love the feeling, lag, then 3000 rpm and its fun and games to the limiter have since decided against VAT25, £1400 to rebuild mine and it would only be good for 260bhp max reliably. this is according to my research and what turbo specialists say. |

ThxGood thing youve ditched the VAT25, 1400 GBP to rebuild is crazy money, i know its a complex turbo.. but for far less money there are WAY better turbos out there indeed.. External wastegate shouldnt be the problem right... |
