I wouldn't bother changing the lambda sensor or anything else until you change that coil, it's going to smell of fuel... It's getting the fuel just not igniting it

that lambda seems to of sorted it partly going to do coils as well but it;s running allot smoother now also just thought id share an epic fail with you as well, unplugged the lambda and took it for a drive went out of my road and couldn't find second gear at all so pulled over and the lambda connector had got jammed in the gear linkage Blush Doh. Olly the cars given me loads of grief LOL nothing serious though. also the exhaust smells normal again not rich Thumbs up

Just change the fecking coils dude Yes

Try unplugging the power steering sensor as well as that causes all sorts of funny running issues

It's at the bottom of the front of the engine blue plug - follow power steering lines Thumbs up

Think ive just sussed what the problem is. whilst having a look at the sensor locations i saw that the intake air temp sensor looked different to mine so i went to have a look and on mine someone has twisted it so it point right instead of downwards as a result one of the little plastic bits has snapped off that holds it in position inside the inlet. going to order new sensor Thumbs up also i noticed that the connector to the map sensor has another plug on the same wire thats unplugged is this normal?

The intake air temp sensor won't be affected because the mounting tabs are snapped off. No

As for the unplugged plug on the MAP sensor wiring, this is normal it is a 'spare' plug on the loom. Yes

If it wasn't sealing correctly, it would be sucking in air and therefore would make the mixture run lean not rich. Wink
