Possibly a heatshield or knackered CAT if one is fitted. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Possibly the heatshield on the back of the head, it's a small one held on with 10mm bolts. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Good shout Stan got under the car and revved it and the cat is fubared its making a huge rattling noise which would also explain why its been misfiring and doing 21 miles to 8 litres of fuel ________________________________________ Team MoonstoneTeam Working Aircon |

Oh dear, looks like you're after a new one or good condition second hand one then. I would buy genuine though, much better quality than pattern. Maybe it's time to go for a decat. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It's got a sports cat, you haven't put diesel in by accident have you lolI would change the coils for known working items (just replace the lot if you can't work out which one is the duff one) |

Right update time Just changed the cat which was f**ked and rattling in my hand when i took it off and changed it for a decat. Drove home and on the way the misfire and lumpy running had stopped and it was so down on power you wouldn't believe my Hdi when the turbo went felt faster. The rattling tapping noise after 3000rpm was still there and when i gothome the bottom radiator hose blew off for the second time since ive had the car. Any ideas anyone before i scrap this piece of f**king s**t car wish i never bought it.________________________________________ Team MoonstoneTeam Working Aircon |

I cannot believe all these things are happening to this car, admitedly i only owned it for a few months and did around 1000 miles in this time.I drove it back from up north to kent some 450 miles and not a single problem with the car EVER. No rattles, no hesitiation, no hoses blowing off, no cat issues, nothing. Seems to have self destructed after Olly had it. ________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |

I'm actually thinking about just scrapping it TBH mate this car has given me nothing but problems i think that rattling/tapping is coming from the bottom end ________________________________________ Team MoonstoneTeam Working Aircon |

It had a new engine not 2000 miles ago and another brand new head on it, I cannot see how the engine would have blown.________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |

Dude when I drove it home from It was fine with none of the above issues, when u took it for a test drive nothing was wrong, you drove it home and the only issue you had was an unbalanced cyclone!!Not beaten to death by me! All I did was remove wheels, breaks. Droplinks and strut braces! Didn't touch the engine at all buddy, I do feel bad for you but on the other hand u got it cheap compared to others for sale, u could always strip it and get ur money back, still a few nice mods that u could sell?!?? |
