My reason for asking is I fixed a gti6 with an oil leak which one of the local peugeot garages had charged £100 to make the problem worse Thumbs down

oh and a different one refused to admit there was ever a phase 1 gti6...

Do i have to remove the front bumper to reconnect the bottom hose propperly

Oh don't worry my local one have never even heard of a Rallye!
Didn't even know when i told them 'the car that had the Air con removed amongst other bits to make it 55kg lighter??' LOL

Stan,Im going to give it a propper service to see if this solves anything but what would you put the rattling past 3k and loss of power down to?

It only rattles/taps after 3000rpm when the engines warmed up it is a bit low on fuel atm Sad didn't think of that but its the rattling that's worrying me

Have you done a compression check?
And when replacing the engine, did you lose any tools in the process?

I know there is no little end bearings but the piston is connected to the rod some how yes ?

And it is not beyond possibility that one of the little ends of a rod is failing ? Say after a belt snap earlier in life ? Either way I'd say its defo a bottom end failure

He didn't replace the engine it had a supposed rebuild before binka had it Yes

well it was either an engine or a head, can't be the two now can it, or is is the first twin head gti6?

and I bet they were not "new" ...


can you get a vid of the noise?


no need to take the bumper off just to fit the bottom hose, just lube up the o-ring and it will just pop in, moving the washer reservoir can help.
