I would say a tapper is basically on borrowed time, it could last for thousands of miles or it could go on the way home.________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

It's a valve that's bent and striking so eventually it will snap off and cause mayhem in your cylinders.________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

hazz wrote: Okay then thankyou ! Do you know if its a big job ? Changing an engine? I don't know but Carl (mechanical repairs) on here does reconditioned heads, or he used to. That might be a better option maybe? ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

With any new engine it would probably be a good idea to change all the above anyway. Guess it's all down to prices.________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

given "it has just started" and it hasn't just had a belt, I'd be suspecting bearing issues.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I'd listen to welshpug, personally if I was serious about it I would at least take someone with me who was good with gti6's, or get it and take it straight to Carl Gotta be abit careful with this sort of thing ________________________________________ 306 1.8 xs moonstone blue-SOLD306 gti6 supercharged china blue-SOLD 406 coupe D9 3.0 V6-SOLD |

It's worth a look if you're in the market for a 6. As above, if it's just started then I'm doubtful of it being a bent valve, although the bloke does say that he doesn't know much about cars so take someone along with you who knows a thing or too. That's the best advert for a 6 on ebay I've seen in a long while and at least he's gone to the effort of cleaning it thoroughly! |
