I have actually made a bung for the manifold, but it's only my spare mani. Can't really be bothered to fit it

Any air duct near the ground is bad unless it's a Race car,
Having driven thru some Floods in my 306 it did fine, Just above the bottom of the doors on the car, Hate to think otherwise

Don't listen, do you kev? Come over as a bit of an idiot on this one. Rolling road figures really mean very little, however if you are happy then so be it.

I'm happy thanksThumbs up

Any of the experts on here are welcome to drive my car and see what they thinkBig grin

If it was just my car on the rollers I agree figures can be misleading/alot different from one set of rollers to another.
But it was on a rolling road day with a few Gti6's to compare to,so if my inlet was affecting my car in a bad/loosing power way it would have showed up against similar cars on the daySmile

And as I said, you'd never tell ANYTHING on the rollers as you don't have enough airflow to generate the ram air effect to anything that would ever show up on a dyno.

out of all those results, the one that stands out for me is madproffessors 2.2 onyl making 191hp???

Really?
You can get that will cams? I'd have thought that it must make some decent torque to make up for it?

I may have asked you this before, But did you weld it shut or have you made something to blank it off?

Yes, they are a bung which you use to blank it off if you wish to remove the Helmholtz resonator. Yes

Ah I see, I thought you were talking about the bung underneath the manifold. Doh

Not sure what people use to block off the airbox, probably fabricate something I would imagine.

there were serious issues with that engine, namely the piston suppliers making a right royal f**kup with the design and ending up with 13-1. compression, suffice to say the replacement 2.2 will be about 75 bhp up on that roughly.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

Like I said, I made bungs for each. Basically an aluminium top-hat affair with an o-ring to secure.

If you were to blank off the airbox resonator, you'd have to weld a plate in as the main 'box has a take off pipe, which connects to the resonator.

My bung basically sits in the end of the take off pipe where the resonator once was
