If you had £30k available to waste what would you do:

A) spend the 30k on an Aston Martin, tvr, rs4 etc

Cool spend a big wedge of the 30k on a car and the rest on a new garage to house your new car

C) spend 13k on a project 10k on tools and garage equipment and have a few other cheap cars to play with

I guess it's a bit bias in here as most of us will modify a car rather than buy an off the shelf car!

Since my aim is to race I'd spend it on sorting out a solid race car / equipment!

That or save a bit more and get a GTR Big grin

But what's the point in having the car if you don't have the equipment and facilities to maintain your 30k car

I think option A would be for a "look at me" kind of person, option B is someone who likes cars but wouldn't know how to change a light bulb and option C is like most of us "look at me, I'm broken down but it's ok coz Iv got a garage and tools to fix this French heap Smile

Jimmyrallye hit the nail on the head.

If I came into 30K now, I'd put it in a house quite frankly every time, given that you could save yourself the same again in interest over your mortgage period.

This is coming from someone who actually has a TVR and a LBSC Rallye.

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time
