Can get the box to slide on and off freely now just need to line bearin up. I presume as you look down then gaps in the bearing for fork are meant to point bulkhead side? |

welshpug! wrote: no, rad side, if its a Valeo or luk unit it will say top.... Does it? I've fitted loads of Valeos and never seen the word "top" on the bearing... Handy if they do though and you're unsure. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Ok so on the pic below (sorry for stealing pic off someone) the left hand side of the bearing has to be rad side when fitted? And does it have to be positioned so the gaps are lined up parallel vertically? If so when I try that the fork just pushes the box back towards the wing! |

Slide your clutch on to the input shaft and when you move the fork you will soon see how it needs to go ________________________________________ |

That's it indeed.the fork should be at about 45 degrees to the input shaft, and as you move the box towards the block it will slide behind the bearing ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

You won't get it on with the clutch arm still attached, at least I've never managed too! You need to remove the arm to allow the fork enough movement to line up with the bearing as you put the box back on. PS. Good luck getting the pin out!________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

The box came off with the lever arm still on, I can't get it off, how is it attached to the fork? I've taken the spring and the pin out but the arm won't seperate from fork! |

If you have removed the spring and pin, then corrosion will be the only thing holding it on. Keep twisting it while lifting.I'm guessing the hole isnt lined up with the pin hole still, as it would have moved around when you wiggled the box to get it off as the shaft moves around a bit to get the fork from behind the bearing. Hence why when people leave the arm on with the pin through it, it will foul on the casing and not release easily without bending it out the way. You have a couple of options I suppose. Wiggle the arm off the shaft and break the corrosion grip. Use a drift to whack the shaft down while using a pry bar under the arm so it shocks the corrosion free. ________________________________________ |

the arm is a flat plate bent to shape with a tube welded into the end that slides over the shaft.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

WP has described it perfectly well. One piece shaft with a fork you're struggling to get behind the bearing. That's one item. Arm is another. As mentioned, it has a tube which slides over the shaft, with holes that will line up with the hole through the shaft. It comes off. ________________________________________ |

Not only does the arm come off, it HAS to come off for you to complete this job. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

the arm is a bas**rd if it's stuck. i couldn't get the pin out on one (had no access to heat either) so bent the arm slightly. got a 205 box on my floor at the moment which i removed with the arm still on but the bearing was smashed to bits so got that to remove before i put it all back together________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |
