The cable being worn and the adjuster within it being seized through heat is probably the reason why you now have a "low bite" after fitting the new clutch. Yes

New cable will sort it. Thumbs up

Sweet, ill get one ordered, be fine as it is driving for a few days though right? Doesn't slip or anything so it's more of an inconvenience than a risk of wearing the clutch?

It won't wear the clutch as long as it's not slipping no. Thumbs up

Once you fit the new one there will be a world of difference though. Smile

thats the fugger, mind it doesn't twat you in the face on the way off.

having a knackered cable could damage the clutch, as it may not allow full disengagement and could drag, also wearing the synchro hubs.

As long as the clutch doesn't slip it'll be fine.

A few have taken it off, I personally have kept mine on. As Mei says, it was supposedly a Peugeot recall although mine never had it done.

So it this spring on here purely to place the clutch pedal back to where it should be when you lift off the clutch? (Which the cable should do anyway....). I'm a bit confused as to what it's for really. My gti has one but my old car didn't!

yup, most cars I have seen with it still fitted have not had the pedal returning to the top properly because of it.

So does mine. It's the adjuster in the cable which affects the biting point as I stated. Smile

I've also just noticed, my blower isn't working now. Is there anything around the box I may have disturbed or unplugged related to this?
