the big one supports the weight of the manifold downwards on the block so it bolts underneath the manifold and to the block. can't remember where the smaller one is fitted, I don't think I've got that one on my engine

big one doesn't go there, it goes to the middle of the mani in front of the starter.

Little one bolts to the right bracket by the starter and folds around to a gearbox mounting point.

Right, I've had it running, up in the air, and it seems to be working fine! Just need to lower it tighten hub nuts raise it put cyclones on and go for a drive. Hope all is ok! I found the big tube that goes over the the mount bolt though, has that gotta go back on or can I get away without?

Battery tray to come off for a tube to go on a mount?

Initially I thought you meant the tube that goes over the upper left engine mount under the cradle. Now I'm lost.

Based on what we've learnt about you so far in this thread I'd almost be temped to believe you did mean that part - and that you think it goes over the gearbox mounting stud.

You didn't find it in your box of bits from when you did something in the past did you? The large washer on a previous page is from the top engine mount, so you've probably been poking about there in the past and may have this tube left over from then.

Get a pic of this tube. I like to help as much as I like to take the p**s.

No, my box of bolts is purely xr2 bits from when I broke one.

This is the tube, I haven't had any other mounts off and I know it came off as part of this job...

And that piece is the sleeve that fits over the top of the gearbox mount bolt.
Take off the rubber mount, and tap that over the bolt.

Finally had time to test drive it. Very satisfying, as it performs brilliantly and doesn't leak or anything lol. Only thing is a very low pedal and a sharp bite but presume that's the 'benefit' of the new clutch!

No, thought I'd try to get away without a new cable.

Which spring do you mean? There's a big spring on the plunger?

I'm just recalling from memory, it's not a plunger but the black cylinder that moves upwards as you depress the pedal... Picture anyone?
