What gets too hot? Oil? I wouldnt know as my oil temp guage doesnt work in the 306 witj the d8 engine. Water hardley ever sees above 80oC. May have to get an oil temp guage fitted in

Yes mate the oil does like to get a tad warm Smile

Ahh looks like am going to have to sort out a temp guage then. Been looking at an oil cooler as the filter adapter is the same as the gti6 filter only the v6 filter is slightley longer. I got a good wiff of burning oil after i have been giving it some for more than 10mins what is usually everyday on my way to work Laugh my ass off

Yeah mate oil cooler would certainly improve things, mine gets upto 100 degrees easy so watch out for it Thumbs up
Cant say what an inprovement an oil cooler will be as ive not got the V6 back yet but make sure you get a decent size one ie 16 row and also one that comes with the bigger pipe size as is needed on the V6 for better flow rate and also get a thermostat sandwich plate otherwise the oil will be constantly cooled which is not good as the oil needs to be at a certain temp to work at its best.

Sam, nowhere near good enough. 50% of the shot is out of focus. Fire your photographer and hire a new one. Or at the very least get him/her to clean the lens.

Has anyone asked Adam if he's okay with everyone derailing his 306 GTi thread with your 406 coupe/derived engine chatter?

Bloody inconsiderate...

It's fine. There is a take off extender spike thing and probably a sandwich plate on the 807/806 and Clio v6s. The espace/vel satis might have one too.

You've got a different front end on yours - is it the later style or an eccosse one?

Yes it connected to the normal oil temp gauge. Straight connection.

Xsi doesn't have one in the dash then?

The xsi clocks are the same as gti6 clocks. The oil level works with the ignition on but no oil temp. Onky thing that doesnt work. Where is the oil temp sensor on the v6 D8 engine? Any ideas?

Update:

I'd blown the standard rear JBL 6x9s after the headunit equalisation was modified by Nico. Just finished fitting some JBL GTO938s I found very cheap on the 'bay. Needed a bit of spacing, but now sounds like I have a sub in the boot, just incredible bass!

After fitting the mount the car has felt really together and drives very well indeed. The only thing I don't like is the lack of damping over crests. The front end sort of floats, but then you get loads of damping come in with more than (what feels like) 25mm of compression. Guess its just Peugeot damping it as a GT car. Shame really, although I do have some new B4s for the front sat in the garage. Hmm.

I think they have a 'dead' spot machined in the internal damper tube the last time I chopped one up for a nosey. Helps the ride but probably what's giving that initial floaty feeling.

It feels like its been put there on purpose. It is a very good compromise, just a little alarming at mach 2 over a crest with a corner the other side. But then you have the rear to slide out of line if you need a hand finding the apex again. Never feels like 1400+ kgs

It does feel a tad floaty over some bumps but it handles surprisingly well for something that's 1500 kgs, I'm really liking mine to be honest, might be staying for a while Smile

Yeah 4x 5mm contisport 3s for 150 quid delivered. Going to 225/45/17 so quite a big width increase as the 205 pilot sports are narrow tread.

Hope to have the wheels sorted on saturday. Hope they clear the brakes...
