I'm heading back up to Newcastle for Uni tomorrow and am a bit worried about the Rallye being up there. I don't live in the greatest of areas and I'd rather not have the car stolen!

The car's already got the upgraded Peugeot-fitted alarm with sensors pointing directly at the windows but I was thinking a steering wheel lock might be an additional deterrent.

Looking to spend about £40.

I still use one tbh. Any deterrent is good, specially on older cars that are easier to steal.

And its usefull to keep in the car incase of roadrage Big grin

Genius! LOL

Will pop to Halfords at some point and see what their devices are like. Found a gearstick lock on eBay for about £5 (used) which might be a good addition if it's cheap.

Or dirty needles scattered around the car, I'd imagine they'd have a similar effect.

LOL

I just think that if someone is looking for a car to steal, they will generally go for the easiest one to take unless they are looking for a particular model. Yes

If yours has a steering lock and the car next door doesn't, 9 times out of 10 it'll be his one they go for. Wink

Dont bother with a gearstick lock as you can just pull the gearknob off and remove the lock.

I used to know a car theif, was quite good to.
He always said the best way to protect older cars is to super glue razor blades on the inside lip of the door at the top.
Then when a theifing bugger tries to pull the top of the door out, they will slice there fingers up.
Oh the bonus side you have the dna to so you can report them. ( if they dont sue you that is LOL )

Would you wire it to the wires going to the red switch under the bonnet?

Wiring your entire shell to the mains when it's parked up? Wire the chassis to an electric fence transformer? They run off a 12v lead acid battery, how convenient...
