Sadly it is time to say good by to by 6 that i have owned for the last 11 years, checking what interest there is before i post advert.

Car is 98 Blaze P2.5, two owners from new (me being the second owner)
96k mileage
Mint interior non of the usual wear issues
Full pug service history to 78k with cam belt change
All three keys books etc and all previous MOT's from new and receipts
Body work in very good condition, some small stone chips etc but nothing noticeable, car is good and straight
Engine is strong and not a tapper K&N fitted, standard newish exhaust (2 years old original pug)
Clutch is heavy (common) and does not slip or judder, will need replacing at some point but never gave me any issues
Some times 2nd gear crunches (only at high revs) may be the clutch?
Quick shift fitted and solid gear linkages
Alarm works which is also rare
A/C not working but have the pipe that need to be replaced
MOT to Aug 2013
Tax to Jan 2013 but may transfer?

Car rently had major service with the following items:
  • Front and Rear discs and pads
  • Oil and filter
  • fuel filter
  • plugs
  • Gear box oil change (original pug oil)
  • Brake fluid change
  • NS tie rod
  • Both track rod ends
  • Coolant change

  • The car has been very well looked after and it is known by the Kent group and it will be sad to see her go, i have probably missed items off but will add all in the advert later with photos.

With the current market car sales are poor and seen what some 6's have gone for which is a shame for such a classic car, Looking for the £1600 mark which some may laugh at, but in my opinion is worth every penny, but will be open to serious offers, the car will come with original head unit and uprated speakers, may leave the Alpine HU in???

Admin: this is not an advert only to check interest

    Thanks.

I don't understand, it's not an advert but it is obviously an advert, Surely if you put up a genuine advert then you will receive the interest you desire. If I was looking to buy a 6 and I saw this thread then I would think "obviously no point in replying because it's not actually for sale" and look elsewhere. Just trying to help you here....

It's a s**t colour and now seen as a s**t car by some people so save yourself and advertise for a bag of sand or be prepared to have it for the long run.

The opinion on the colour is not everyone's cup of tea but does stand out from others, it's all down to personal preference.

To be fair, that's a good example and there's not many that can boast those credentials. I would happily pay over £1k for that seeing as it won't need much and has been looked after.

It's a mint example I can say that much, quick aswell. Unfortunately the market value for a gti6 these days is gash as said above. Unless the right buyer comes along looking for that car with that spec and has the money for it I can't see it going for much more than 1k. Sorry ed :-/

It is a shame for such a classic hot hatch which will still shock a lot of people in their modem hatches, will sleep on it and post pics and change the price tomorrow and see How it goes, as you know it is not in the same class as others.

£1k seems like a fair price. Bought my phase 2.5 for £700 two months ago albeit with 140k on the clock

Keep hold of it. I hate the thought of someone buying mine and abusing it.

Buy a £100 diesel run about and keep the 6 for weekends.

I would say £1300 would be a reasonable price for this, I don't think you will see much more to be honest. Sad

Thanks for placing the advert in the Classifieds, good luck! Smile

I wouldn't let it go for less than a grand no way. If it is as clean s you say it is then i'd be after £1400 to the right buyer easily. Look at the prices on PH, there's some right sheds up for 1k.

This is a lovely car and if I wanted another I'd be tempted. Its mint inside and out and not like most others of a similar price. I would keep it unless 1300 was reached. Smile

If it had stickers on it, it would be worth £1400+, but there are half decent 6's going for 500/600.

But it's all about finding the right buyer, with so many cheaper examples, it may be hard

I think that the ones going for that have some issues. Bushes, mounts etc etc may require belts too which soon pushes them above the price of a good example such as this one. Smile
