Depends what you mean by half decent? All the ones I've seen for under a grand look ok at a glance but when you read the advert / look at the photos they are mostly riddled with issues, dodgy mods, no service history, dented panels etc.

If you buy a basically sound car from someone who has not done all the maintenance they should have, and you end up doing what they should have done, you can drop another grand on the car easily to get it up to speed.

A decent service history adds quote a bit to the value of the car.

Agree,The car has full pug history upto 78k and all the work that has been needed has been done, the only job that may be required is the clutch at some stage.
